Note:
1) Do any 9 questions from Section – A
2) Do all Questions from Section – B
Section – A
Q1: A bus starting from rest moves with a uniform acceleration
0.1m/s2 for 120 seconds. Find the speed acquired and the
distance travelled [2]
Q2: A train is travelling at a speed of 90 km/h. Brakes are applied so
as to produce a uniform retardation of 0.5 ms-2 . Find how far will
the train go before it goes to rest. [2]
Q3: A driver decreases the bus speed from 80 km/h to 60 km/h in 5s.
Find the acceleration of the bust? [2]
Q4: A cyclist travels a distance 4km from A to B and moves a distance
of 3km at right angle to AB. Find his resultant displacement and
total distance travelled. [2]
Q5: A bull cart moves along the boundary of a square field of side
10m in 40 s. What will the magnitude of displacement of the bull
cart at the end of 2 minute and 20 seconds from its initial position?
[2]
Q6: A taxi driver noted the reading on the odometer fitted in the
vehicle as 1052km. When he started the journey. After 30 min
drive, he noted the reading again and it was 1088km. Find the
average speed of taxi. [2]
Q7: An athlete runs along a circular track of radius 100m. Calculate
the displacement of the athlete and the distance travelled by him,
3
when he covers th of the track. [2]

Q8: Akhil drove his car with speed of 20 km/h while going to college.
When he returned to his home along the same route, the speed
of the car is 30 km /h. calculate the average speed of car during
the entire journey. [2]
Q9: Starting from a stationary position, Rahul paddles his bicycle to
attain a velocity of 6 ms–1 in 30 s. Then he applies brakes such that
the velocity of the bicycle comes down to 4 ms-1 in the next 5 s.
Calculate the acceleration of the bicycle in both the cases.
[2]
Q10: James goes jogging from one end A to other end B of a straight
300m road in 2 minutes 30 sec and then turns around and jogs
100m back to point C in another 1 minute. What are James’s
average speed and velocities from: -
(a) A to B and (b) A to C? [2]
[2x9=18M]
Section – B
Q11: A boy is running on a straight road. He runs 500m towards north
for 2 min 10 sec and then turns back and runs 200 m in 1 min.
Calculate
(i) His average speed and magnitude of average velocity during
first 2 min 10 sec and
(ii) His average speed and magnitude of average velocity during
the whole journey. [3]
Q12: While arriving Anshu travels 30 km with a uniform speed of
40km/h and next 30 km with a uniform speed of 20 km/h. Find
Anshu’s average speed. [3]
Q13: An object starting from rest travels 20m in first 2s and 160m in
next 4s. What will be the velocity after 7s from the start?
