The lift control valve is located between the tilt control valve and the inlet manifold. In the HOLD position, spring (2) keeps spool (1) in the centered
position. Oil from the pump flows into passage (3). In the HOLD position, spool (1) blocks the flow of oil.

When you move the spool (12) to the left, the spring (11) is compressed toward the left. Oil from the pump flows into passage (13). The oil flows
around spool (12) into passage (14). As the oil flows into passage (14), the oil acts against the compensator spool (3). As the oil pressure increases,
the spring of compensator (3) compresses and the compensator spool moves up.
The oil flows through the compensator spool (3) into passage (8). The oil pressure in chamber (4) and the pressure of the spring of compensator (3)
balances oil pressure in passage (14) .

When the oil enters passage (8), oil on the left side of passage is blocked by spool (12). On the right side of passage (8), the oil flows around spool
(12) into passage (7). The oil then flows through port (5) to the rod end of the cylinder. This will retract the cylinder. This returns the loader to the
LOWER position.
Return oil flows from the head end of the cylinder through port (2). The oil goes from port (2) into passage (15). The oil flows around spool (12) into
passage (16) back to the tank.

will return the loader to the RAISE position.
Return oil flows from the rod end of the cylinder through port (5) into passage (7). The oil flows around spool (12) into passage (9) back to the tank.

When the operator moves the control lever into the FLOAT position, spool (12) moves right to the end of the travel. Spring (11) will fully compress.
Ball (10) will move below the ridge. This will hold the spool (14) in the right position. The force of spring (11) is not enough to disengage the ball.
The spool (12) is now in the FLOAT position. The spool will remain in the FLOAT portion until the operator moves the control lever out of the
FLOAT position.
Oil from the pump flows into passage (13). The pressure oil in chamber (13) is blocked by spool (12) and no pump oil flows to either end of the lift
cylinders. Both ports (2) and (5) are open to the tank. With the ports (2) and (5) open to the tank, the position of the lift arms is not controlled by
pump oil. The bucket will follow the contour to the ground.
