In this valley of dying stars

In this hollow valley

The speakers says that Hollow Men are sightless as they lack “eyes” of will and action. The
"valley" is reference to famous Psalm from the Bible, that goes, "Even though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff,
they comfort me" (Psalm 23). There is no one there to comfort them because they never believed
in God. They are in a valley of death. The stars are dying as they have little light left but there
are no eyes to see it. The valley is hollow like the Hollow Men. They are in this dark valley
awaiting for their fate.
