BLACK MAGIC/ WITCHCRAFT/ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ in Sikhism

First, let’s take a closer look at what black magic/witchcraft is. How it all started.
Reading the history of India, it is clear that the people here remained slaves for
centuries. Their homes were looted. The dignity of many daughters was tarnished. Even
their places of worship were demolished. The people wanted to get rid of slavery. They
wanted that their state should come back to them, but they did not have a long-term plan
for all this. They wanted to achieve everything without any effort. Magic mantras are
believed to have been born out of such a mental state. They thought to make some kind
of magic or some kind of Tantra Mantra so that the enemy will either go blind or go
insane while sitting far away. People who could not face the hard truths of life. They
wore black, yellow, red, and white robes and labeled themselves as pious people. They
confused people with magic spells. Sorcery is something that is not at all there, but
those who believe in it believe it to be absolutely true. Just like we scare a child when
there is something that happens. Children often get scared, but we know that there is
nothing, we just scare them. In the same way magic, Jantar Mantar, Taga Tavit, this
whole business is based on an empty lie. Sometimes even the giver of sorcery wonders
that I just gave water but how they got cured by drinking water. The fact is that the
sorcerer knows that it is nothing. But the person taking the water has a complete trust
on the sorcerer. It is because of this trust that the person gets more and more entangled
in so many things. The other thing is that the weaker side/people with weak minds are
more likely to get caught up in these things. Women tend to side with the sorcery more.
The reason is that in many places women are not given equal respect. In many homes, a
woman is humiliated whenever anyone wishes to. Like if daughters are born in a
woman’s home, she is cursed. In such a state of mind, a woman thinks that her mother-
in-law and father-in-law should not get angry anymore, or her husband should not take
his eyes off her. So, the last weapon left in such a state of mind is black
magic/witchcraft. Enchantment with the help of Jogis, Sadh Babas and Tantrics. I am
not talking about all the women here. Some sisters should not get angry with me after
reading all this. But my sisters! I myself am a woman and a mother of daughters. Of
course, the society has made a lot of progress today but what I have described above is
also a bitter truth of our society.

But our Guru Sahib Ji has considered every woman and man as equal. In the true sense
He has taught us to be a human being. He has completely freed us from meaningless
rituals and magic.

Let us be guided by Gurbani what SatGuru Ji is blessing us with about witches and
Jantar Mantras.

ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਰੀਹਾ ਜੀਉ।।

ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰ ਤ ਜਨਾ ਰੰ ਗੁ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ।।

ਗੁਰ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਬਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ।।

ਹਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਢੁਲਿ ਢੁਲਿ ਮਿਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ।।(173)

Kaman here means witchcraft. That means let us meditate together with the Sat Sangat.
Let us renounce all false deeds and adopt the virtues. Let us adopt the magic of the
virtues bestowed by the Akaal Purakh and adorn our life with those auspicious virtues.

ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਰਿ ਕੰ ਤੁ ਰੀਝਾਇਆ।।

ਵਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ।।(737) 

Meaning, O daughter, adorn your body and mind with the magic of virtues. Only by virtue
of these virtues shall thy Lord be pleased. Don’t walk on the path of false magic outside.
With Guru’s wisdom all kinds of magic can be thrown away.

ਬਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਾ।।

ਕਾਮਣਿਆਰੀ ਕਾਮਣ ਪਾਏ ਬਹੁ ਰੰ ਗੀ ਗਲਿ ਤਾਗਾ।।(582)

This means listen carefully to the true teachings of the Guru, understand and obey them.
Don’t fill your life like Amrit with poison. Tear off the threads of witchcraft around your
neck.

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭਉ ਚੰ ਦਨੁ ਲਾਵੈ।।

ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਉ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਉ ਪਾਵੈ।।(725)

In it Kaman (ਕਾਮਣਿ) means woman.

Kaman (ਕਾਮਣ) means sorcery/witchcraft.

O mortal woman, the pure fear of the Parmaatma is the fragrance of sandalwood. When
you come to practice virtues, then your Lord Husband Himself will be pleased with you.

ਚਲੁ ਚਲੁ ਸਖੀ ਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਬੋਧਹ ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਹੀਆ।।

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਉਆ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਹੀਅਤੁ ਹੈ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਈਆ।।(836)

That means let us, my Satsangi friend, adopt the magic of the Lord’s virtues and please
that Parmaatma with the virtues.
We have understood very well in the light of Gurbani that magic/witchcraft/sorcery is
nothing. These are all signs of a weak mindset. According to Gurbani, Good virtues are
magic, and good thoughts are our witchcraft. The heroic warriors who have created our
golden history have not resorted to any magic. Instead, they have achieved their
destination with their courage, wisdom, and unwavering faith in Gurbani. We have
leaders like Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Then why are we wandering around, let’s
open the treasure of this ancestor and see.

ਪੀਊ ਦਾਦੇ ਕਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ।।

ਤਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ।।(185)

Let it not be that we have such a great treasure lying around like this. Let us not cover
this precious treasure under our Rumalas and walk around begging and stumbling from
door to door. So please read Gurbani yourself, understand what kind of magic Guru
Sahib has explained. Adopt the magic of auspicious virtues. Adorn your life with the
magic of virtues. Finally, let us be guided by the Hukum of a Gurbani.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਜਪੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦ ਜਾਗੈ।।

ਤੰ ਤੁ ਮੰ ਤੁ ਨ ਜੋਹਈ ਤਿਤੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ।।(817)

That means every human being who has faith in that one Akal Purakh lives his life
according to the teachings given in Gurbani. No sorcery, no evil eye has any effect on
him. Because by reading and understanding Gurbani, that being becomes so conscious
that he realizes that these things are nothing. Then the one who has no existence is not
feared again. In the end, I join my hands and request you to read, understand and believe
in Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji yourself.

ਆਉ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਗੱ ਲ ਚੰ ਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਲਈਏ ਕਿ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਕੀ ਹਨ।ਇਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਏ।ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ
ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਪੜਕੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋ ਕ ਸਦੀਆਂ ਤੱ ਕ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਰਹੇ।ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਲੁੱਟੇ ਗਏ।ਬਹੂ ਬੇਟੀਆਂ ਦੀ
ਇੱ ਜਤ ਰੋਲੀ ਗਈ।ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱ ਕ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਵੀ ਢਹਿ ਢੇਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱ ਤੇ ਗਏ।ਇਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋ ਕ ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਚਾਹੁੰ ਦੇ
ਸਨ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਗਲੋਂ ਗੁਲਾਮੀ ਲੱਥ ਜਾਵੇ ।ਸਾਡਾ ਰਾਜ ਭਾਗ ਫਿਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਿਸ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਸਭ ਵਾਸਤੇ
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋ ਕਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਕੋਈ ਲੰਮੀ ਸਕੀਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।ਉਹ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਉੱਦਮ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੀ ਸਾਰਾ ਕੁੱ ਝ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰ ਲੈ ਣਾਂ ਚਾਹੁੰ ਦੇ
ਸਨ।ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਦੂ ਮੰ ਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੰ ਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਦੂ
ਟੂਣਾ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਤੰ ਤਰ ਮੰ ਤਰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ ਕਿ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੂਰ ਬੈਠਾ ਹੀ ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਅੰ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਪਾਗਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
ਜੋ ਲੋ ਕ ਜਿੰ ਦਗੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਠਿਨ ਸੱ ਚਾਈਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ।ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਾਲੇ , ਪੀਲੇ , ਲਾਲ ਚਿੱ ਟੇ ਚੋਲੇ ਪਹਿਨਕੇ
ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਲੇ ਬਲ ਚਿਪਕਾਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਏ।ਲੋ ਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਦੂ ਮੰ ਤਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਉਲਝਾ ਦਿੱ ਤਾ।
ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਉਹ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੰ ਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਇਸ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਸੱ ਚ ਮੰ ਨਕੇ ਪੂਰਾ
ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਬੱ ਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਛੋਟੇ ਹੁੰ ਦਿਆਂ ਡਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਹੈ ।ਬੱ ਚੇ ਅਕਸਰ ਡਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ
ਪਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੁੰ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕੁੱ ਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਬੱ ਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਡਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਠੀਕ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਜਾਦੂ
ਟੂਣੇ, ਜੰ ਤਰ ਮੰ ਤਰ, ਤਾਗਾ ਤਵੀਤ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਧੰ ਦਾ ਇੱ ਕ ਕੋਰੇ ਝੂਠ ਤੇ ਖੜਾ ਹੈ।ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੇਣ
ਵਾਲਾ ਵੀ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦਿੱ ਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਸਿਰਫ ਪਾਣੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਠੀਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਗੱ ਲ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕੁੱ ਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ
ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ।ਇਸੇ ਭਰੋਸੇ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਏਨਾ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਫਸਦਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਦੂਸਰੀ ਇੱ ਕ
ਗੱ ਲ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਮਜੋਰ ਧਿਰ ਹੁੰ ਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਫਸਦੇ ਹਨ।ਜਿਵੇਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ
ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਪਾਸੇ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਦਾ
ਸਨਮਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਕਈ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਤਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਚਾਹੋ ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਕਰ ਦਿੱ ਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਔਰਤ ਦੇ
ਘਰ ਬੇਟੀਆਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਟਕਾਰਾਂ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਔਰਤ ਸੋਚਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਤੇ
ਸੱ ਸ ਸਹੁਰਾ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਾ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ, ਕਿਤੇ ਪਤੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਹੀ ਨਾ ਅੱ ਖਾਂ ਫੇਰ ਲਵੇ।ਸੋ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ
ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਆਖਰੀ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ।ਜੋਗੀਆਂ, ਸਾਧ ਬਾਬਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਂਤਰਿਕਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਜਾਦੂ
ਟੂਣੇ ਕਰਾਉਣੇ।ਮੈਂ ਇਥੇ ਸਭ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੱ ਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ।ਕਿਤੇ ਭੈਣਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਭ ਪੜਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਨਾ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋ
ਜਾਣ।ਪਰ ਮੇਰੀਉ ਭੈਣੋ!  ਮੈਂ ਖੁਦ ਇਕ ਔਰਤ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਟੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਹਾਂ।ਬੇਸੱਕ ਅੱ ਜ ਸਮਾਜ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰੱ ਕੀ ਕਰ
ਲਈ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਪਰ ਕੁੱ ਝ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਦਾ ਇੱ ਕ ਕੌ ੜਾ ਸੱ ਚ ਹੈ।

ਪਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਇੱ ਕ ਔਰਤ ਮਰਦ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਮੰ ਨਿਆ ਹੈ।ਸਹੀ ਅਰਥਾਂ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਬਣਨਾ
ਸਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ।ਬੇਮਤਲਬ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣਿਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਅਡੰ ਬਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਆਉ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਧ ਲਈਏ ਕਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਟੂਣਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੰ ਤਰਾਂ ਮੰ ਤਰਾਂ  ਬਾਰੇ ਕੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ
ਹਨ।

ਆਉ ਸਖੀ ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਰੀਹਾ ਜੀਉ।।

ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰ ਤ ਜਨਾ ਰੰ ਗੁ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਰਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ।।

ਗੁਰ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਮਨਿ ਬਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ।।

ਹਰਿ ਤੁਠੈ ਢੁਲਿ ਢੁਲਿ ਮਿਲੀਆ ਜੀਉ।।(173)

ਇਥੇ ਕਾਮਣ ਤੋਂ ਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਟੂਣੇ।ਮਤਲਬ ਕਿ ਆਉ ਸਤਸੰ ਗੀਉ ਰਲ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਵੀਚਾਰਾਂ ਕਰੀਏ।ਸਾਰੇ ਕੂੜ ਕਰਮ ਤਿਆਗਕੇ
ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰੀਏ।ਅਸੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਅਪਨਾਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ
ਜੀਵਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰ ਗਾਰੀਏ।

ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਰਿ ਕੰ ਤੁ ਰੀਝਾਇਆ।।

ਵਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਲੀਨਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ।।(737)

ਮਤਲਬ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਪੁੱ ਤਰੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤਨ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੂਣਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰ ਗਾਰ ਲੈ ।ਇਸੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਹੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਤਾ
ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।ਵੇਖੀਂ ਕਿਤੇ ! ਬਾਹਰ ਦੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਵਾਲੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਤੁਰ ਪਵੀਂ।ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ
ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਪਰੇ ਸੁੱ ਟ ਪਾਈਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਬਹਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਾ।।

ਕਾਮਣਿਆਰੀ ਕਾਮਣ ਪਾਏ ਬਹੁ ਰੰ ਗੀ ਗਲਿ ਤਾਗਾ।।(582)

ਮਤਲਬ ਇਹ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੱ ਚੀ ਸਿੱ ਖਿਆ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੋ , ਸਮਝੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੰ ਨੋ।ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵਰਗੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ
ਜਹਿਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਭਰੋ।ਜੋ ਜੀਵ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਮੱ ਤ ਪਿੱ ਛੇ ਲੱਗਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲਾਂ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਧਾਗੇ ਤਵੀਤ
ਪਾਉੰਦੀਆ ਹਨ।ਉਹ ਜੀਵ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਮੰ ਨੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲਾਂ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਧਾਗੇ ਤਵੀਤ ਲਾਹ
ਸੁੱ ਟੋ।

ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭਉ ਚੰ ਦਨੁ ਲਾਵੈ।।

ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕਰੇ ਤਉ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਉ ਪਾਵੈ।।(725)

ਇਸ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਕਾਮਣਿਤੋਂ ਭਾਵ ਇਸਤਰੀ

ਕਾਮਣ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ

ਹੇ ਜੀਵ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਭੈਅ ਹੀ ਚੰ ਦਨ ਦੀ ਸੁਗੰਧੀ ਹੈ।ਜਦੋਂ ਤੈਨੰ ੂ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੂਣੇ ਕਰਨੇ ਆ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਦੋਂ
ਤੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪਤੀ ਆਪੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਏਗਾ।

ਚਲੁ ਚਲੁ ਸਖੀ ਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਰਬੋਧਹ ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਹੀਆ।।

ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਉਆ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਹੀਅਤੁ ਹੈ ਸਰਣਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਛੈ ਪਈਆ।।(836)

ਭਾਵ ਕਿ ਚੱ ਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਤਸੰ ਗੀ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਆਪਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੂਣੇ ਅਪਨਾਈਏ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ
ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰੀਏ।

ਅਸੀਂ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰ ਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਭ
ਕਮਜੋਰ ਮਾਨਸਿਕਤਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣ ਹੀ ਜਾਦੂ ਹੈ।ਚੰ ਗੇ ਗੁਣ, ਸ਼ੁਭ ਵੀਚਾਰ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਟੂਣੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ
ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਸੁਨਹਿਰੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੱ ਦਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਈ।ਸਗੋਂ
ਆਪਣੀ ਦਲੇ ਰੀ, ਸਿਆਣਪ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਤੇ ਅਟੁੱ ਟ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੰ ਜਿਲ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ
ਤਾਂ ਧੰ ਨ ਧੰ ਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰ ਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਰਹਿਬਰ ਹਨ।ਫਿਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਭਟਕਦੇ ਫਿਰੀਏਆਉ ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਇਸ ਪਿਉ
ਦਾਦੇ ਦੇ ਖਜਾਨੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਕੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੀਏ।

ਪੀਊ ਦਾਦੇ ਕਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਡਿਠਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ।।

ਤਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ।।(185)

ਕਿਤੇ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਏਨਾ ਮਹਾਨ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਇੰ ਜ ਹੀ ਪਿਆ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਵੇ।ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਇਹ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਖਜਾਨਾ
ਰੁਮਾਲਿਆਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਹੀ ਢੱ ਕ ਛੱ ਡੀਏ।ਆਪ ਮੰ ਗਤੇ ਬਣਕੇ ਦਰ ਦਰ ਤੇ ਠੋਕਰਾਂ ਨਾ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਫਿਰੀਏ।ਸੋ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਆਪ
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜੀਏ, ਸਮਝੀਏ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੇ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱ ਲ ਸਮਝਾਈ ਹੈ।ਸ਼ੁਭ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣੇ
ਅਪਣਾਈਏ।ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਟੂਣਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਿੰ ਗਾਰੀਏ।ਅੰ ਤ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਇੱ ਕ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਫੁਰਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਸੇਧ ਲਈਏ।

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੋ ਜਨੁ ਜਪੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦ ਜਾਗੈ।।

ਤੰ ਤੁ ਮੰ ਤੁ ਨ ਜੋਹਈ ਤਿਤੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ।।(817)

ਭਾਵ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਇੱ ਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱ ਖਦਾ।ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਆਏ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਆਪਣੀ
ਜਿੰ ਦਗੀ ਜੀਊਦਾ ਹੈ।ਉਸ ਉਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਦੂ ਟੂਣਾ, ਕੋਈ ਬੁਰੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਅਸਰ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ।
ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਜੀਵ ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਪੜਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝਕੇ ਏਨਾ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਆ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ
ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਕੁੱ ਝ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਂਦ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਡਰ ਕਾਹਦਾ।

ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱ ਚ ਹੱ ਥ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਧੰ ਨ ਧੰ ਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰ ਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪ ਪੜੋ, ਸਮਝੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੰ ਨੋ।
