History
By: Kyle Herman
Brief History
On May 24th 1822, Ecuador gained independence from
Spain when Simon Bolivar, his armies and Antonio José de
Sucre helped the Ecuadorian rebel army win the battle of
Pichincha. At first the land was part of the larger group of
countries called Gran Colombia, but in 1830 Ecuador became a
separate independent country. Ecuador and Peru have long
had battles and disputes over their borders.
Ecuador hace tiempo bueno, y tienes selva tropicales,
montanas de andes, y el islas de Galápagos. Ecuador es
un zona tropical, y esto ubicado justo al sur del Ecuador.
Ecuador means both the country AND equator.
