Project Title:
Eco Bricks: A solution to the plastic contamination problem in Laguna and
Nasugbu.

Project Background:

Abundant plastic wastes have become an alarming problem in the environment

for many years. Plastic is a non-biodegradable product that doesn't decompose easily
and pose danger to the environment. The improper waste management of plastic
resulted in the polluted bodies of water and land.

An Ecobricks is a reusable building block made by packing solid

non-biodegradable garbage into a plastic container to a specific density. The materials
that are used in building Eco Bricks are shredded into small pieces and then mixed with
wet cement and those mixture are poured into a machine to create the product. The
bottles are excellent building blocks for nearly any construction because they are
packed with a set density. They can also be filled with non-biological non-recyclables
that are dangerous to the environment if not contained such as styrofoam, wires, small
batteries, etc. Since plastic trash is a long-lasting and durable substance, Ecobricks are
a sustainable solution to utilize non-biodegradable plastic waste. In addition, it will help
and prevent the plastic contamination in our environment.
With this, the proponents focused more in the area where plastic pollution is
evident, specifically in Laguna Lake and Nasugbu, Batangas. It took the proponents an
initiative to reduce plastic pollution and recycle it for reusable ones thru eco bricks.
