Abstract

Parallelism, or parallel construction is the expression of two or more

equivalent sentence elements in the same grammatical form: adjectives paired
with adjectives, verbs with verbs, noun with noun, etc. The aims of the research is
to find out the kinds of words used in parallelism found in journal “Jakarta Post”.
This research uses qualitative research method, because the data are in word not in
numerical. The result of the research shows there are four types of parallelism.
