1. Using the Venn diagram below, compare and contrast the characteristics of primary
and secondary source materials. Give an explanation for the overlapping
characteristics on the space provided.
Primary Secondary
-Primary sources of information come directly from the source, primary sources means
first so it means that it is a first hand account. Secondary sources is a second hand
account, secondary sources use this evidence to provide an interpretation. Just
remember
primary sources are first and secondary is second.
Explanation for overlapping concepts:
-Secondary sources for a historical research endeavor are usually scholarly books
and articles. Primary sources are interpreted and analyzed by secondary sources.
These sources are separated from the event by one or more stages. Images,
quotations, and images from primary sources may appear in secondary sources.
