Key Student Outcomes in the course: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7

Assessment Tools
1- Assignment and HOME WORK (20%)

Here students are required to solve and submit the assigned problems individually on their

scheduled time. Assignments and Homework should be written by English language. Penalties

will be applied on late or no submission.

a. Copied assignments will not be accepted.

b. Submission of copied assignments and no submission for several times may lead to deny

attending the final exam.

2- SOFT SKILLS (10%)

Here class activities are taken place during tutorial sessions. You have to notice the following:

a. Class activities should be taken practically at the tutorial session, every student should have

his own calculator otherwise he will not pass the activity/quiz.

b. Cheating during these activities may lead to penalties, repeating cheats will lead to deny

attending final exam.

3- Midterm exams (10%)

One midterm will take place at the 7th week or as scheduled. The time allowed for the exam is

30 minutes. Notice the following:

a. The answer of the exam should be carried out by English language.

b. Cheating during the exams will lead to penalties and may deny student to attend final exam.

c. No makeup is allowed, otherwise stamped exemption from the administration.

4- Practical Exam (20%)

Student shall learn from the practical sessions in the Laboratory. An exam for 2 hours will be

conducted from one of the practical experiments carried out, and thereby graded based on his

performance.

5- Final term exam (40%)

This is held at the end of the term according to the scheduled time given by the institution. This

is a comprehensive test that examines the student throughout the whole course

Assessment Plan
Assessment is a process aimed understanding and improving students’ learning in both course level

and program level. The assessment process includes:

(a) Direct assessment of the assigned CLOs of the course using the direct assessment tools as a

KPIs, e.g. assignments, class activities, and exams,

(b) Indirect assessment of the assigned CLOs of the course using the CLOs’ survey at the end of the

course delivery, and

(c) Direct assessment of the mapped SOs of the academic program via the mapping between CLOs

and SOs, as well as the Level of Learning of each CLO.

It is worth noting that the assessment is linked to rubrics of three levels of achievement; they are:

Satisfactory: if the percentage of the number of the students who achieve 70% or higher in the LO

is more than 60%.

Need Improvement: if the percentage of the number of the students who achieve 70% or higher is

less than 60% but the percentage of the students who achieve less than 60% is less than 40% for

each LO.

Unsatisfactory: if the percentage of the number of the students who achieve less than 60% in the

LO is less than 60%.

All the assessments are gathered and assembled in the form JU39-05-01-03/01 “Final Course

Results Notification”, for which the improvement action plan is proposed for each LO.

The mechanism by which CAIT assess its LOs and evaluate their development against the course

and the academic program is accurate and powerful since it is carried out automatically by means of

Excel spreadsheet. This Excel file allows informative assessment of the LOs for which an instant

feedback is given to the instructor to modify teaching strategy and/or reevaluate the LOs in case of

“Unsatisfactory” level of achievement. The file also returns a comprehensive summative assessment

of the LOs for feedback for the coming semester. This assures continuous improvement of the

course and the program as a whole.
