Answer : No, we don't always need comas to set off adjective clauses. If the
adjective clause has information that's necessary to identify the
head noun, we don't need commas, We will need commas to
separate extra information that's unnecessary. This clause can
omit without loss of meaning because it is non-essential
information about the head noun.
6. Does an adjective clause always come at the end of a sentence?
Answer : Yes, it does because an adjective clause almost always come
right after the nouns they modify.
7. Can an adjective clause stand alone as a sentence?
Answer : An adjective clause is a type of dependent clause that follows the
main clause, so an adjective clause cannot stand alone as a
sentence.
8. Can all adjective clauses be reduced to adjective phrases? (clause : has
subject and verb--remember dependent and independent clauses; phrase a
group of words which has one meaning)
Answer : The clause has a subject and verb but a phrase does not. Not all
adjective clauses can be reduced to adjective phrases. Adjective
clauses can only be reduced if the relative pronoun (who, which,
or that) is the subject because the relative pronoun can be the
subject of the adjective clause, so we can remove it to be
reduced to adjective phrases.
