LITERATURE REVIEW
Many approaches were taken towards the avoidance and prevention of accidents:-
One of the methods involved the use of an embedded system that uses piezoelectric
sensor and accelerometer and alcohol sensor to detect and prevent accidents. In case of
an accident a message is sent to the number that is preloaded[1][2].
Another method involved a system that uses a smart helmet to avoid road accidents.
The rider can ride only after he wears the helmet and is tested to be alcohol free. Some
initiatives involved the use of IOT. But it is applicable only to two wheelers[3].
There also were systems that used an MSP430 and an accelerometer to detect accidents
and transmit message using Bluetooth. This could even raise false alarm in case
rider/driver is not hurt[4].
WORKING OF THE PROJECT
In this project our main focus is to limit the speed of the car to
permissible limits whenever it enters a safe zone i.e.
Schools,Hospitals,Highways etc.
Permissible speed limits are set up values of upper limits and lower
limits of RF transmitter.
As soon as the car enters a safe zone ,it comes in the range of RF
transmitter signals.RF receiver which is placed inside the car catches
the transmitted RF signals.
RF receiver circuit along with microcontroller drives the motor circuit
and immediately takes down the speed of motor below the set value of
speed by the transmitter.
Now,the driver will not be able to exceed the speed limit even if he
accelerates the car to its full potential.

FUTURE SCOPE
 In future we would like to integrate this project by adding some more safety measures
like Automatic breaking of the cars before zebra crossing when the signal is ON.

 In future we would also like to recommend some penalty based mechanism in this
project through which exception cases such as police vehicles, ambulance and vehicles in
emergency can be exempted from speed control inside safety zones.

 We wish to make a vehicle that can locate its position from the available map of the city
and decide by itself about the highest speed limit for any particular road or highway.

 We would also like to add some features that will enable a vehicle to detect speed limits
of roads and highways from signboards along the road.
