1. General
This method statement is prepared to be sure that the Exterior Lighting fixtures
Installation will be carried out according to the clear plan that will be according to the
safest practicable method and according to the specifications as well as Client and
KAUST Instructions.
2. Purpose
The purpose of this Method Statement is to outline the sequences and the method of
works intended to be used for the Exterior Lighting fixtures Installation, so the clear steps
of work activity will make it easy for all departments to understand the task,
consequently, the HSE department can make a specific risk assessment and identify the
related hazards.
Project Manager has the responsibility for ensuring that the resources is
provided to carry out the work according to the method statement.

Contractors Electrical engineer has the overall responsibility for ensuring that
complies with all the requirements of this Method Statement.
Electrical engineer will nominate a supervisor to supervise and coordinate all
the activities on site.
MOBCO HSE Manager has the responsibility for ensuring that staff are
complying with the requirements of the approved HSE plan and
procedures, including carrying out routine safety audits and toolbox
meetings, submitting of the necessary equipment test certificates, routine
checks of the equipment and getting the approval before the
commencement for using and participating to the regular safety meetings.
MOBCO Safety Supervisor / officer must ensure that running work step by
step to be complied with HSE requirements and procedure, checking all
equipment to be matched with HSE requirements, implementing the
Approved HSE Plan and Procedures on site.
6. Materials
Lighting Fixtures (Lighting Poles).
7. Procedure / method
Installation works shall be carried out only with respect to approved shop
drawings of latest revision.
Ensure all finishing works in all related areas are completed for the area of
installation and release/cleared by civil section to proceed on with the installation
of lighting fixtures.
Type of lighting fixtures are to be selected as per the approved schedule of
lighting and approved shop drawing.
Lighting fixtures are to be installed in exposed external areas shall be of weather
proof type.
Ensure Nuts, bolts & washer for Light Fittings in accordance with IFC drawings
and details.
Before Startup of Light Fittings, wiring & Termination Installation, check that no
existing services coincides with our installations.
After completion of conduits work (wherever applicable) wiring to be done as per
approved SLD & routing drawings.
Install Lighting fixture/Bracket (if applicable) on the foundation/Wall, alignment
to be checked with level and ensure that is in accordance with IFC drawings and
details.
Light fittings to be installed along with accessories as per drawings and bolts, nuts
to be checked for tightness.
Light Fittings Installed should be checked for Alignment, orientation &
straightness.
All Metal enclosures/Light Fittings/Pole Structure shall be effectively earthed by
using PVC cable to nearby earth bus or earth grid with bolted connections.
The QC Representative will keep records for all inspections and testing related to
the Works and coordinate with Company/Contractor to verify the work has been
completed in accordance with the specifications and drawings. Any NCR’s raised
will be closed out prior to handover.
All the termination work shall be carried out by trained technicians.
Terminate power cables to the isolator/circuit breaker inside the pole hole. Ensure
that they are terminated properly.
