Service has always been a big part of my life. I have enjoyed serving others since I was a

little kid. Throughout those experiences I have learned a lot of new things. One new way of

serving is through marketing. Marketing is a great way to publicize and make companies and

organizations known. I was able to write grants and send them to companies and organizations

to be able to market Building Youth Around the World. I would write grants asking companies

and other non-profit organizations for money and help to be able to fund the organization and

to help it run. I was able to put flyers and packets into the mail along with explaining what the

non-profit company was and asked if they could help.

I feel as though I was able to help the non-profit raise awareness of the company. In a

few pictures it shows food we were able to buy and give out to people who needed it. I was

also able to travel with the company down to the Navajo nations and be able to bless lives

there by handing out food and other items they needed. It felt amazing being able to see how I

was able to promote the non-profit organization and then to see how it was getting used was

great.

I think this has changed a lot of my views on non-profit organizations. I enjoy serving

and I thought it was useful to see how writing grants and taking them to a postal service place

and sending off the grants was different than what I was used to. I was able to write and send

off around 5,000 grants and it was interesting to see how many people donated and how we
were able to use the money so serve others. I see there is a lot more to organizations than just

the one side and it will be interesting to keep marketing for people and helping the non-profit

organization grow.
