II. Project Summary

Since its outbreak in late December 2019, COVID-19 has wreaked havoc across the
world and like any critical sector, education has also been hit hard. Students, families,
institutions and communities were deeply affected. It is indeed a challenging time but we
must think positively and not lose hope. We are known as committed, resilient and
resourceful people so we need to find ways to keep ourselves vigorous and continue learning
amidst pandemic situation.

Social media and technology are integral parts of daily life, and integrating the use of
these into the classroom is more natural than before, given how acclimated many students are

1
to them. So, it is no surprise that technology has a major impact on education. Cagasat
National High School supports the Department of Education’s stand that education must
continue and that no learner must be left behind despite the difficult situation we are in.
These can be seen in them advocating different programs like Project W.A.T.C.H. (We
Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty).
Project E-Kwento is a social media platform that advocates activities aiming to
enhance the importance of punctuality and honesty as elements of success in our daily lives
wherein students share their ideas, stories, opinions and showcase their skills and talents.
Approved articles, stories, banners, posters, announcements, flyers and videos will be
created using Canva for Education, a powerful design tool, allowing you and your students to
create visually stunning designs and these will be posted in the different official Facebook
page of the school.
The project will be done at home and in school during the vacant time of the
proponent. This will approximately take 1-2 days. The project, once finished will be used
for the school year 2021-2022 and the years to come, starting on October 22, 2021 with the
support of the school’s administration under the leadership of Dr. Sally J. Florentin, Principal
IV.
For the cost of the project, 500 pesos is needed for the procurement of USB Flash
Disk for the backup storage of data.

III. Project Background

Social media platforms are everywhere and it is the most accessible tool today to
disseminate information. We share information and updates instantaneously to our friends,
family and to the world. The power of technology can be a great tool for us educators to
reach out to our learners and to promote different advocacies or activities to strengthen
community partnership. Using social media can give opportunities to our learners to be part
of the issues and concerns of the community where they belong.
As ICT coordinator and a W.A.T.C.H. advocate, I can see that when we use
technology in a good way, we can do great things and have good impact to our fellow
individuals.
