a workshop on “Prevention of Drug Abuse‟ in the coming week. Prepare a poster with
complete information for the students of class X-XII.

NOTICE WRITING
1 You are Sports Secretary of Lalwani Public School, Udaipur. Draft a notice in not more
than 50 words for your school notice board asking the students to give their names for
participation in various events to be held on the Annual Sports Day of your school.
Invent the details of the events. Sign as Lalit/Lalita.
2 You are Anoop/Arya, the cultural secretary of your school. As part of the national
heritage programme , the school has decided to put up a show on ancient art forms.

1. Heptanes and octane form an ideal solution at 373k the vapour pressure of the pure
liquid at this temperature are 105.2kPa and 46.8kPa respectively. if the solution
contains 25g of heptanes and 28.5g of octane then calculate:
(i) Vapour pressure exerted by heptanes
(ii)Vapour pressure exerted by solution’
(iii)Mole fraction of octane in the vapour phase.
2. Ethylene glycol is a common automobile antifreeze . calculate freezing point of solution
containing 12.4g of this substance in 100g of water . would it be advisable to keep this
substance in the car radiator during the summer? ( Kf = 1.86, Kb = 0.512K kg/mol)
3. 100 mg of a protein is dissolved in just enough water to make 10 ml of solution. If this
solution has an osmotic pressure of 13.3 mm Hg at 25 o C what is the molar mass of the
protein?
4. Calculate the freezing point of depression expected for the 0.0711m aqueous solution
of sodium sulphate. if this solution actually freezes at -0.320oC what would be the value
of van’t Hoff factor?
5. Find the value of molarity and molality of the 15 % solution of sulphuric acid ?(d= 1.02g
per cm3)
6. The vapour pressure of the pure benzene at a certain temp. is 0.850 bar. A non volatile,
non electrolyte solid weighing 0.5g when added to 39g of benzene .Then the vapour
pressure of the solution is 0.845 bar. What is the molar mass of the solid substance ?
7. 18 g of glucose C6H12O6 is dissolved in the 1kg of water in a saucepan . at what

depression and (b) the freezing point of the solution ?
10. 1g of a non electrolyte solute dissolved in 50g of benzene lowered the freezing point of
benzene by 0.40k. The freezing point depression constant of benzene is 5.12k kg/mole.
Find the molar mass of the solute.
11. A decimolar solution of potassium ferrocyanide is 50% dissociated at 300k . calculate
the osmotic pressure of the solution.

decrease the vapour pressure of the water by 25%? What will be molality of the
solution?
13. If nitrogen is bubbled through water at 293k how many millimoles of nitrogen gas would

given that henry law constant for nitrogen at 293k is 76.48 k bar.
