III. MECHANICS:
1. Write a concise speech applying the principles of speech writing, and containing
the three main parts–introduction, body, and conclusion.
2. The subject of the speech is: “Respecting one’s uniqueness can unify
relationships.”
3. The speech must be typewritten (Times New Roman, 12, single space, letter 8 1/2
x 11”, normal margin) and submitted through Aralinks under the assignment
PETA 1- Speech Writing.
IV. RUBRICS:
The written output will be graded according to the criteria:
Introduction 30%
(clear preview of the speech and grabs attention with high efficiency.)
Body and organization 40%
(Well-supported arguments with effective use of evidence and examples. Main
idea explained with high effectiveness. Transitional words and phrases are
evident.)
Conclusion 20%
(Emphasized main points and summarized speech with high clarity.)
Mechanics, usage, grammar, and spelling 10%
(Well-enhanced quality of the writing with few or no grammatical errors.)
TOTAL 100%
V. SCHEDULE:
The deadline for submission is on or before October 27, 2020 (Wednesday).
ORAL COMMUNICATION IN CONTEXT (GRADE 11)
First Semester – Finals
I. OBJECTIVES: In this performance task, the Grade 11 learners should be able to:
➢ Identify the principles of speech delivery.
➢ Listen and appreciate the speech delivered.
➢ Present a speech through a video by following the guidelines for an effective
speech delivery.
III. MECHANICS:
1. The written speech will be delivered through a video.
2. The learner may choose between the methods manuscript or memorized speech.
3. The video is limited to two (2) to five (5) minutes only. The final output may be a
raw video or edited.
4. Inclusion of pictures and video clips are allowed, provided with proper credits, but
are not mandated. In addition, the added clips must only be 25% of the total
duration of the video.
IV. RUBRICS:
The video will be graded according to the criteria:
Delivery 70%
(includes eye contact, volume of the voice, clarity, and intonation, pace, poise
and body language during the delivery)
Content 20%
(mastery of the speech)
Overall presentation 10%
(effectively keep the audience engaged)
TOTAL 100%
