3.1.1 Technical Requirements:

1 Offered Transmitters shall be Foundation Field bus type and shall be used at
unmanned platform wellheads.

2 All Field bus transmitters shall satisfy, as minimum, the requirement of the Field bus
registration laboratory and in case of Field bus Foundation, shall have FF "tick mark".
All FF transmitters shall be registered with Field bus Foundation having passed the
interoperability tests as per ITK 4.01 as minimum. Documentary evidence to this
effect shall have to be submitted.

3 Field bus electronic transmitters shall be Foundation Field bus H1 compliant bus
powered device having output as FF compliant digital communication and shall have
LAS (Link Active Scheduler) capability to ensure communication during primary LAS
failure (LAS backup).

4 Foundation Field bus transmitters shall comply with ISA S50.02 and IEC-61158
standard.

5 Foundation Field bus transmitter shall be compatible to use along with Foundation
Field bus accessories such as FISCO power supply, spur connector, short circuit
protectors, bus terminator etc. for Intrinsically safe H-1 field bus implemented using
Field bus Intrinsically Safe Concept (FISCO).

6 Foundation Field bus transmitters shall have intrinsically safe/FISCO (Field bus
Intrinsic Safety Concept) approval from statutory body and shall be suitable for use in
Class I, Division 1, Group D, temperature class T3 hazardous area.

7 Field bus transmitters shall be polarity insensitive to communication signal. (Polarity


insensitive termination).

8 Field bus transmitter shall work with voltages of 9-32 VDC. Transmitters shall be
compatible with FISCO power supply module and should function satisfactorily with
such power supply module.

9 Field bus transmitter shall have short circuit protection.

3.1.1 Technical Requirements:

10 Field bus transmitter shall have standard function blocks including AI (Analog Input) as
minimum.

11 DD and CFF files for field bus transmitter according with foundation field bus FF-524
and FFf-103 respectively shall be provided.

12 Transmitter shall be microprocessor based and it shall incorporate a non-volatile


memory, which shall store complete configuration data of transmitter. all necessary
signal conversions, including conversion to produce output with the required protocol
shall be carried out in the transmitter electronics.

13 Transmitter shall run complete diagnostic routine. in the event of detection of failure,
the output shall be driven to predefined value.

14 Transmitter shall be configured to store its tag number, calibration range & other
specifications / data which will be useful for history record purpose.

15 Built in temperature sensors shall be provided to compensate for ambient temperature


variations.

16 The transmitter shall be so constructed that in case of a pressure sensing element


failure, the process material will not enter the wiring conduit / enclosure.

17 Effect of static pressure on the differential pressure transmitter in either direction shall
be negligible.

18 Transmitter shall be provided with external zero adjustment and shall have integral
vent/drain.

19 Transmitter shall be immune to RF interference due to Microwave, HF, VHF radio


communication etc.

20 Transmitters shall be in compliance with the electromagnetic compatibility


requirements as per IEC-801. Electronic modules shall be designed for short-circuit.

3.1.1 Technical Requirements:

21 The material of elastomers used in instruments shall be suitable for the specified
service. Use of asbestos or asbestos-bearing materials shall not be used.

22 All materials of construction shall meet the requirements specified in NACE MR-01-75
latest edition wherever applicable.

23 Transmitter’s meter body and electronics housing material shall be SS-316 and it shall
resist shock, vibration, corrosion and moisture.

24 Transmitter software security & upscale/downscale shall be user selectable.

25 Foundation Field bus protocol shall be field proven and shall have following features
as a minimum:

♦ It shall allow for multi masters (for example, two, primary and a secondary) for
configuration, calibration, diagnosis & maintenance.

♦ The primary could be host computer like HMI (Human Machine Interface) and
secondary could be hand held Configurator (HHC).

26 Transmitters shall be capable of accepting and implementing universal commands. It


must be possible to communicate all the commands of Foundation Field bus based
control system/maintenance system to field transmitters.

1.0 GENERAL:

1.1. Environmental Conditions:

Instrumentation provided under this project shall be continuously subjected


tropical marine environment. It shall be exposed to the wind and highly
corrosive & humid environment.

The site conditions include exposure to hydrocarbons, h2s (in case the process
fluid is sour), moist, salt laden atmosphere, seawater spray, sunlight, monsoon
rainfall, temperature, humidity, wind, fungal growth, vibration and shock, emi
and rfi. All instruments shall be designed to withstand these conditions during
shipment, storage, installation & commissioning and operation period.

All instrumentation shall be suitable for the overall climatic conditions with
particular attention to site ambient conditions as given below.

1.2. Definitions:

Foundation Field Bus (FF):

Foundation field bus is the name of field bus developed by the field bus
foundation and it is a digital, two-way multidrop communication link.

Field Bus Foundation:

An independent, non-profit organization established to support standardization


of the ISA (SP 50)/IEC (61158-2) field bus standard.

Field Bus Segment:

A section of fieldbus that is terminated in its characteristic impedance and can


be linked by repeaters to form a longer H1 field bus.

Field Bus Trunk:

The main communication highway between devices on field bus network and
act as a source of main supply to spurs on the network.

Field Bus Spur:

Branch line connecting to the trunk that is a final circuit and can vary in length
from 1m to 120m.

Design, materials, manufacturing, examination, inspection, testing and


documentation shall conform to the latest editions of relevant/applicable codes
& standards as mentioned below and in attached documents / data sheets.

Wherever edition is not mentioned, latest edition prior to issue of tender shall
be followed.

Where neither code nor standard is specified in specifications / attachment /


annexure, the bidder shall propose applicable codes and standard on which the
manufacturer’s design and manufacturing is based. This is for review and
approval by ONGC.

2.0 Design criteria:

All instrumentation shall be designed and selected based on standard


specifications as covered in “technical specifications doc no. OSW-SG-J0-001”
in conjunction with this document and other documents / drawings, data sheets,
specification & drawing enclosed else where in tender documents.

2.1 All instruments shall have high MTBF (mean time before failure).

2.2 Prototype design or equipment of experimental nature or design undergoing


testing etc shall not be offered.

2.3 All instruments and items shall be suitable for use in a harsh marine
environment, which is saline and corrosive.

2.4 The offered instruments shall be passive to radio transmissions. Band pass
and / or band stop filters shall be fitted as necessary to ensure immunity to RFI
as per IEC 801.

2.5 The offered materials shall be new and unused.

2.6 All fittings, fasteners, brackets, clamps, tube clips, conduit, cable glands etc
shall be of SS316 as minimum.

2.7 Drain ports of all instruments covered under this job shall be terminated in a
common existing drain at each platform. The attached instrument hook-up
drawings does not indicate this requirement.

2.8 All offered items shall have local support capability in India. This includes the
spare parts and maintenance support.

2.9 All microprocessor based instruments/ systems which maintain their own real
time calendar shall be V2K compliant as individual and also when integrated
with RTU. All systems/ equipment must be compliant to requirements of
BSI/DSC-PD-2000-1.

2.10 End connections and pressure ratings:

(1) Threaded end connection shall be NPT as per ANSI/ASME B1.20.1

(2) Flanged end connection shall be as per ANSI/ASME B16.

(3) Flange face finish shall be as per paragraphs 6.4.4.1, 6.4.4.2 and 6.4.4.3
of ANSI/ASME B 16.5. The face finish wherever specified in data sheets
shall have serrations as follows;

• Stock finish : 1000 micro in AARH max.

• Serrated finish:

- 125 AARH : Serrations with 125 to 250


micro in AARH
- 63 AARH : 32 to 63 micro in AARH

(4) Grooves of ring type joint flanges shall be octagonal as per ANSI/ ASME
B 16.20.

2.11 Ranges for instruments shall be selected in general, such that in normal
process operation, the indication shall remain in between 40% to 60% of span
for linear and 60% to 80% of span for square root inputs.

3.0 UNITS OF MEASUREMENT:

Following units of measurement shall be used, unless otherwise specified:

4.0 INSTRUMENT REQUIREMENTS FOR CLASSIFIED AREA:

4.1 Hazardous area classification:

(1) All field instrument, equipment and associated accessories shall be


certified for use in hazardous area Class 1, Division 1, Group D with
temperature class T3 complying to relevant NEC standard/ equivalent
standard.

(2) Wherever applicable (as specified in detailed specification) bidder shall


submit copy of certificates proving that offered item is suitable to use in
specified hazardous area.

(3) Intrinsic safety, wherever specified, shall be achieved by installing suitable


safety devices in safe location.

4.2 Statutory Approval:

Instruments/instrument items/systems located in the hazardous area shall be


certified by the statutory authorities specified below for their use in the area of
their installation.

(1) For all intrinsically safe / explosion proof / flameproof instruments/


instrument items/ systems which are manufactured abroad shall be
certified by any statutory authority like BASEEFA, FM, UL, PTB, LCIE etc.

(2) For all intrinsically safe instruments/instrument item/system manufactured


locally (indigenously), the testing shall be carried out by any of the
approved test house like CMRI / ERTL etc.

(3) For all flame proof instrument /instrument items/systems manufactured


locally (indigenously), the testing shall be carried out by any of the
approved test house like CMRI / ERTL etc.

(4) Approvals other than above shall neither be offered nor be acceptable.

4.3 Hazardous Area Instrumentation:

All instruments used in hazardous area shall be certified by statutory bodies as


indicated above. The methods of protection shall generally be as specified
below. Any alternative method, if required due to any special technical reasons,
shall be used only with a categorical approval from ongc.

(1) All field transmitters shall be intrinsically safe type. All Fieldbus devices
shall be intrinsically safe/FISCO certified to be used in intrinsically safe
installation.

(2) All solenoid valves shall be explosion proof certified Ex ‘D’.

(3) All junction boxes shall be explosion proof certified Ex ‘D’.

4.4 Instrument protection and Enclosure type:

(1) All the field instruments shall be “dust proof” and “weatherproof” having
IP-65 compliance as per IEC-60529 / IS-2147 and secure against the
ingress of fumes, dampness, insects and vermin.
(2) External surfaces shall be suitably treated with epoxy painting to provide
protection against marine corrosive atmosphere.

(3) Items, their accessories, supports etc shall be suitable for installation and
operation under extremely saline, humid and harsh marine environments
and shall be tropicalised and treated to protect against the environmental
conditions specified elsewhere. It may be noted that the application is
prone for salt formation and rusting.

(4) All internal and external parts, which are not inherently corrosion resistant
by choice of material, shall be prepared and finished by plating or paint
finish.

(5) All electrical components shall be tropicalized to protect against humidity,


moisture and fungal growth.

5.0 Instrumentation philosophy:

This section provides general guidelines to be followed to implement


instrumentation at wellhead for this job.

This section also covers minimum requirements to be considered while


designing, sizing and implementing the Foundation Fieldbus. However, it is
contractor’s responsibility to meet the overall functional and other requirements
specified in tender documents.

5.2 Power supply:

Power supply for unmanned wellhead platform instrumentation shall be


provided from low power systems like solar power/ thermo electric generator
(TEG). All instrumentation on unamanned wellhead platforms shall be designed
to work with power supply of 24-28dc.

Power supply of 230 VAC +/- 10%, 50hz shall be available at single point for
process complex and bridge connected platforms instrumentation.

5.3 Control & Monitoring Philosophy:

(1) Various kinds of SMART instrumentation shall be provided to control &


monitor the wellheads and to provide reliable process parameter
measurements to SCADA.

(2) Field bus field transmitters (i.e. PT, TT, DPT) shall be used to monitor the
various wellhead parameters.

(3) Solenoid Valve shall be used for remote control of individual well and
emergency shut down of unmanned platform wells.

(4) SCADA system integrated with RTUs (Remote terminal Unit) shall be
implemented for monitoring and control of unmanned wellheads.

(5) Each unmanned wellhead shall have dedicated RTU. All the field devices
at each unmanned wellheads shall be connected to RTU via FFJB
(Foundation Fieldbus Junction Box). Further, RTU shall communicate to
associated process complex SCADA master via existing Radio link.

(6) Process platform and bridge connected wellhead platform devices shall be
connected to Process platform RTU via existing TIJB (Telemetry Interface
Junction Box).

(7) Unmanned Platform RTU and Foundation Fieldbus Junction box (FFJB)
shall be located in Telemetry Room at unmanned wellhead while process
complex RTU shall be located in Control Room at Process complex, which
are designated as safe areas.

(8) FISCO power supply for Fieldbus instruments shall be installed in FFJB
while junction boxes for Fieldbus devices (Type-1 & Type-2 JBs) shall be
located in field.

5.4 Configuration:

Indicative configuration diagrams for Unmanned Wellhead Platforms are given


as follows:

Instrumentation on unmanned wellhead platforms shall be integrated with RTU


in following configurations:

a) New Foundation Fieldbus transmitters shall be wired in Fieldbus


configuration.

b) Existing Gas Lift SMART instruments shall be wired in conventional HART


point-to-point configuration.

c) SOVs for remote well control and for remote shut down operation (ESD &
FSD) shall be connected to RTU in point to point hardwired configuration.

d) Test separator instrumentation (conventional instruments) shall be


connected to RTU in point-to-point configuration.

e) Battery parameter signals shall be connected to RTU in point-to-point


configuration.

5.5 Foundation H-1 Field bus Implementation Philosophy:

All new upcoming transmitters on unmanned wellhead platforms shall be field


bus h-1 compliant and shall be configured in the field bus configuration.

5.5.1 General:

Following shall be considered while sizing / engineering the fieldbus


configuration:

(1) In general, Field bus configuration shall comply the requirements specified
in the various standards like IEC 61158-2, IS-5831, ISA-S50.02.

(2) Intrinsically safe H-1 fieldbus shall be implemented using Fieldbus


Intrinsically Safe Concept (FISCO).

(3) All fieldbus devices shall be intrinsically safe/FISCO certified to be used in


intrinsically safe installation.

(4) All the devices must, as minimum, satisfy the requirements of the fieldbus
registration laboratory and all have FF “check mark” logo. All Fieldbus
devices shall be registered with FF having passed the interoperability tests
as per ITK 4.01 as minimum.

(5) Chicken foot / Tree topology shall be adopted. Same shall be carried out
with the help of field junction boxes and spur connectors. Daisy chain
topology shall not be used.

(6) Various aspects like instrument & JB locations, hazardous area, Plot plan,
trunk cable distance, spur cable distance, cable parameters, voltage drop,
power supply current capacity, spur short-circuit current, current
consumption of each device, location of device on fieldbus, host
limitations, minimum operating voltage of device etc shall be taken into
account while finalising the configuration.

(7) Various parameters listed above shall be considered to decide maximum


nos. of instruments / devices that can be connected to single field bus
segment.

(8) Multiple bus segments shall be multi dropped and terminated to a


common host / FF interface, however, in no case total nos. of devices
shall exceed the host / FF interface capability & network schedule limit.

(9) While designing the fieldbus segment, 20% spare shall be considered.
Spare capacity shall be maintained at all levels including Spur connector,

Junction box, bus segment, bulk power supply, field bus power supply /
conditioner, host / FF interface etc. such that any addition in future shall
be carried out without any addition of hardware / software.

(10) All required accessories like Spur connectors with short-circuit protection,
Junction box to mount spur connectors, Junction Boxes, cables, cable
glands, Power supplies, Barriers, Repeaters, Power conditioners, Surge
Protection devices, bus terminators etc. shall be supplied to meet the
overall functional and maintenance requirements.

5.5.2 Interoperability:

(1) All Foundation Fieldbus devices shall be interoperable with the RTU to
take advantage of the associated advanced diagnostic features and asset
management capabilities.
(2) To ensure that full interoperability exists, all FF devices shall only be
selected in accordance with the RTU’s Host Interoperability System
Testing (HIST) Device Listing.

5.5.3 Field bus Components:

5.5.3.1 FISCO Power Supply (FFPS):

(1) FISCO power supply shall provide power to fieldbus devices Contractor
shall also consider power conditioner in addition to FFPS, if required.

(2) FISCO power supply, barriers, etc. shall be installed in Foundation


Fieldbus Junction Box (FFJB) to be mounted in Telemetry Room.

5.5.3.2 Field bus Terminators:

(1) Each fieldbus segment must have two terminators.


(2) All field side terminators shall be installed in junction box (preferably in
spur connection junction box) and no terminator shall be installed in ff
instruments.

5.5.3.3 Repeaters:

(1) Repeaters shall be utilised to join FF segment together.


(2) More than one segment shall be multi dropped and connected to common
FF / Host interface.

5.5.3.4 Link Active Scheduler (LAS):

(1) The LAS is responsible for coordinating all the communication on the field
bus.

(2) The primary LAS shall reside in RTU H-1 interface cards.

(3) The FF / Host interface module will act as primary LAS (Link Active
Scheduler). In addition, field primary back-up LAS shall be identified and
configured in each bus segment Each fieldbus segment shall be
configured for automatic fail-over to the field primary back-up LAS in the
event of primary LAS failure.

5.5.3.5 Spur connector / Wiring Blocks / Junction Boxes (Type-2):

(1) All trunk and spur connections in the field shall be terminated in ‘wiring
blocks’ specifically made for Foundation Fieldbus networks. The wiring
blocks shall be mounted in field mounted weather proof and explosion
proof junction boxes. (Type-2)
(2) The wiring block shall have two dedicated connections for the Fieldbus
trunk cable.

(3) Integral short circuit protector for spur connections shall be provided.

(4) Wiring block / spur connector shall have an indicator to provide status of
each spur connection indicating when spur is shorted and is in over
current mode. It shall also provide an indication when bus power is
available.

5.5.3.6 Bus connection / Junction Box (Type –1):

(1) Individual field bus segments coming out from various Spur connector
junction boxes shall be grouped in Type-1 Junction Box mounted in the
field.

(2) Type-1 junction box shall connect individual fieldbus segments to


respective FISCO power supplies by the means of multi-pair cable. Each
pair of multi-pair shall act as separate field bus segment.

5.5.4 Cable:

Individually shielded twisted pair with overall screened armoured cable shall be
used as fieldbus cable.

5.5.5 Grounding:

(1) The instrument shield shall be terminated at the host end of the network in
the FFJB and shall not be connected to ground at any other place.

(2) In case of multi home run cables, cable shields from different networks
shall not be connected together.

5.5.6 Lightning / Surge Protection:

Required surge protectors shall be considered while designing the fieldbus


configuration based on the area of installation and risk of high / frequent
lightning.

5.5.7 FF Loading and Calculations:

(1) Allowable network and segment loading shall be determined by the lower
value of below given three parameters.

a) Spare capacity required


b) Free time in network macrocycle
c) Voltage drop and current supply limitations etc.

(2) Spare:

a) Network / segments shall be designed for 20% spare capacity to allow


future expansion.
b) Above shall be consistent with maximum loading with one second loop
execution.

(3) Segment Execution Time:

a) Default segment execution time shall be one (1) second unless


otherwise required to meet the functional / tender requirements.
b) The network/segment macro cycle should match the module execution
time.
c) Network/ Segment shall be designed with adequate spare capacity for
the future addition of one (1) control loop (i.e. one transmitter and one
final element with PID in FF segment) as minimum with one second
loop scan time.
d) Each network/segment should operate with a single specified
macrocycle execution time. Multiple macrocycle shall be avoided on a
single network/segment.

(4) Voltage drop calculation:

a) Circuit analysis shall be carried out for each fieldbus segment to


determine the available operating voltage at each device.
b) The available voltage at each device shall exceed the device’s
minimum operating voltage by at least 1 volt.

5.5.8 Macro cycle:

(1) The macro cycle shall have 50% unscheduled time as minimum for non-
deterministic bus communications such as alarm transmission, set point
changes etc
(2) The macrocycle shall be sufficiently fast to obtain a representative
sampling of the true process changes.

5.5.9 Naming Convention:

A consistent method, approved by ONGC shall be followed for identifying


network/segment, loop & instrument and spur.

5.6 Point-to-Point Configuration:

All existing transmitters for lift gas service on unmanned platform as well as on
bridge-connected platforms shall be configured in the HART Point-to-Point
configuration.
All transmitters to measure process parameters on process complex shall also
be configured in HART point-to-point configuration.

In addition to above requirements, Contractor shall consider below given


requirements for process platform and bridge connected wellhead platforms.

a) Contractor shall arrange required power supply for field devices, one-in-
two-out barriers etc. from the owner supplied single point power tie-in
point (24 VDC). All required distribution shall be carried out by the
contractor.
b) Contractor shall replace existing barriers with new one-in-two-out barriers
for the interface/parameter signals.
c) All the multi pair cables from the field shall be terminated on one-in-two-
out barriers, to be installed in existing telemetry interface panels (TIJB)
located at Control room.
d) Signals from the one-in-two-out barriers shall be repeated to RTU located
in control room, with the help of single / multi pair cables.

5.7 Engineering Philosophy:

(1) Each field device shall be connected to a junction box through single pair
signal or control cables and then further to telemetry room/control room
through multi pair cables.

(2) Separate junction boxes shall be used for the following type of signals:

A) Intrinsically safe analog inputs (4-20 ma)


B) Non intrinsically safe contact outputs.

All pulsed signals shall be routed directly to telemetry room / control room
without the use of intermediate junction boxes, in general.

(3) Intrinsically safe wiring philosophy shall be followed for hart based
transmitters while, non-is wiring philosophy shall be followed for sovs.
Suitable flow signal converters shall be provided for test separator existing
flow meter.

(4) Separate cables and cable trays shall be provided for is and non-is
signals. Is and non-is cables shall not be run in a common tray.

(5) 20% spare capacity shall be provided for cables, junction boxes, trays for
the future.

(6) Arial distance between process tapping point and field instrument shall be
up-to 15 meters.

(7) Location of the scada mtu, rtu, field instruments, field junction boxes, tijb,
cable & tube route shall be finalized in consultation with ongc
representatives from respective area/ location.

6.0 Product support:

Contractor shall furnish letter/s of authorization from manufacturers to quote


their product/s and undertaking for product service support along with un-
interrupted and timely supply of spares parts for at least 15 years for the
quoted model of the equipment.

7.0 Compliance:

7.1 Contractor shall ensure that all the instrumentation offered is completely
suitable for the ambient conditions, process data and functional requirements
as specified in this specifications / attachments / annexures / datasheets.
Selection of model number is solely contractor’s responsibility. If at any stage,
the offered instrumentation is found unsuitable for the specified operating
conditions, the contractor shall replace the same with suitable model to meet
the specification without any time and / or cost implication.

7.2 Contractor shall ensure that the offer includes all the accessories / special
cables / fittings and any other items required for the satisfactory installation and
commissioning/safe operation / online maintenance / smooth functioning. Any
such items / requirements discovered at a later date, even after ONGC’s review
of documents, shall be supplied by the contractor without any time & cost
implications to ongc.

7.3 If any instrument item is supplied by an agent, contractor shall get in writing
from their principals/manufacturer, the guarantee and undertaking with respect
to quotation/quantity /selection and performance of the offered items and
submit the same to ONGC.

8.0 Preservation & shipping preparation:

8.1 Contractor shall submit the procedure to protect and preserve the items being
purchased during transportation and storage at the construction site. Adequate
export (sea worthy) packing shall be provided to protect against rust, corrosion
and damage during transportation and storage.

8.2 Contractor shall submit preliminary shipping / packing list indicating number of
boxes, estimated size of package, volume, etc.

8.3 All moving parts shall be suitably locked to arrest movement during
transportation, with proper identification. All ports and openings shall be sealed.
Threaded connection shall be plugged with molded plastic caps or plug. It is
contractor’s responsibility to ensure all items are adequately protected during
shipment.
8.4 Instruments shall be supplied in sealed heavy plastic bags containing desiccant
material during shipment. All parts, subject to moisture, shall be suitable for
tropical conditions.

Following specifications describe the requirements for FF hardware for field bus
intrinsically safe concept (FISCO).

However, alternative method of Non-IS Trunk and Intrinsically Safe Spurs (Field bus
Barrier) concept may also be considered.

1 All Foundation Field bus (FF) hardware shall be used with intrinsically safe H-1 field bus
implemented using Field bus Intrinsically Safe Concept (FISCO). Necessary statutory
certifications for individual Foundation Field bus (FF) hardware components shall be
provided by contractor as applicable.

2 All Foundation Field bus (FF) hardware shall be FISCO certified for use in intrinsically
safe application. Hazardous area as Class I, Division 1, Group D, Temp class T3 shall
be considered.

3 Foundation Field bus (FF) hardware shall comply with Field bus standards like ISA
S50.02, IEC-61158.

4 All Foundation Field bus (FF) hardware shall have minimum one year comprehensive on
site warranty/ guarantee.

5 Bidder shall propose Foundation Fieldbus network configuration inline with "Foundation
Fieldbus implementation philosophy" provided in “engineering design criteria” of
technical document. Foundation Fieldbus hardware specifications given below are
indicative only, and bidder may consider these hardware components and additional
components if any, as required to suit their proposed Foundation Fieldbus network
configuration.

(A) Power Supply / Conditioner (FFPS) with repeater:

1 FISCO power supply shall provide power to fieldbus devices. Contractor shall consider
power conditioner in addition to FFPS, if required.

FFJB shall be supplied along with necessary accessories like terminal box, toggle
switch, supporting channel, PVC wire ways etc. duly mounted in FFJB with complete
wiring. All accessories for installing Field bus hardware components and other items to
be installed in FFJB shall be part of FFJB supply.

2 FFJB shall be weather proof to IP-65 or better as per IEC-529/IS-2147 and secure
against the ingress of fumes, dampness, insects and vermin.

3 FFJB shall be fabricated using SS 316 sheet supported by ss 316 structural members.

Material used for ffjb construction shall be free from surface defects or other evidence
of poor quality materials or poor handling or storage conditions. All edges, folds and
bends shall be free from irregularities and stress cracks.

All internal braces and supports, hinges, screws shall also be of SS316. Contact of
dissimilar metals shall be avoided wherever possible and where contact unavoidably
occurs, manufacturer shall indicate the proposed precautionary measures against
galvanic action are proposed.

Structural members of FFJB shall be of 6 mm x 50 mm x 50 mm SS316 angle.

4 FFJB shall be floor mounted, self-standing type and fully enclosed construction.

5 FFJB shall be provided with removable eyebolts and blanking plugs, for lifting
purpose.

6 Contractor shall carry out FFJB sizing, keeping in view the maintenance clearances
and easiness, based on the total number of field instruments, FISCO power supply,
isolating barriers and other Foundation Field bus accessories to be installed. Although
the FFJB dimensions shall be guided by the actual requirement, typical dimensions of
750mm (H) x 750mm (W) x 500mm (D) shall be kept in mind while finalizing the FFJB
size.

33 Contractor shall either modify existing mounting plate for installation of smart
valve positioner or provide new mounting arrangement for smooth operation of
control valve.
34 Necessary accessories for installation of the smart valve positioner on the
control valve shall be included in contractor’s scope. necessary accessories for
sensing the feedback from existing control valve, installing the pressure
regulators and pneumatic signals shall be included.
35 Installation of smart valve positioner, required pressure regulator, tubings,
fittings, signal cables and commissioning of the control loop as a whole shall be
responsibility of contractor.
36. Smart valve positioner shall be compatible with new control valves to be
provided by the bidder.
