Evolution of the HIS
The current state of health information systems closely reflects the larger
health system. The national and local health information systems are poorly
integrated and are weakly governed (Marcelo, 2005).
Private sector information is not part of the DOH systems which is partly due to
the weak information sharing regulations and preference for proprietary software.
