international tourism destinations and markets.
Some of the major reasons behind the rapid evolution of Asian places as major
international tourism destinations and markets is because after the post second world war era,
extraordinary rise of destinations in the Asia-Pacific area, air transport expansion in these
regions has been remarkable in recent times. Eventually China became the number one tourism
market in the world. The fastest-growing air transport sectors are in China, India, Indonesia,
and other Asian countries. The expansion of air travel and the rise of tourism are inextricably
linked.

2. Write down the role played by wide-body jets in the growth of international tourism
Wide-body aircraft became widely employed for commercial transportation in the
1970s, signaling the start of a new age in international travel. Long-haul vacations became
popular among visitors during this time period. Long-distance vacations have become more
inexpensive for leisure travelers. Air travel grew cheaper, safer, and more comfortable as wide-
body airplanes could transport more passengers. After this massive changes in air transport
many kinds of aircraft eventually showed up after. The Boeing 707 and DC-8 were widely used
by the late 1950s, and airlines began looking for larger planes to accommodate the growing
global demand for air travel. In the meanwhile, supersonic flights were developed, although
these were later turned into freighters. Indeed, the need for broader, faster, and more pleasant
flights by airlines and passengers pushed aircraft manufacturers to develop more efficient
planes, which led to the development of wide-body jets.
