PRE – ASSESSMENT / INTRODUCTION

Activity #1 Orientation

1. What is the importance of inducting personnel?

Induction is the process of introducing new workers to the company

where they will be working. It's a kind of direction. It provides comfort
to workers and assists them in adjusting to their new surroundings.
Employees are given brief background information on the company's past,
nature of operation, work culture, practices, procedures, divisions,
rules and regulations, nature of job, duties and responsibilities, and so
on before they begin working actively in the company. Inducting employees
is important because it not only saves you money and resources in the
long term, but it also prevents you from spending money on covering
absences, such as recruiting substitutes. Many companies do not have
formal induction training, so new hires are left to figure out what they
need to know on their own or by asking, following, or copying existing
employees.

New staff, on the other hand, are often nervous and shy, which can
prevent them from receiving information in this manner. This can result
in new hires failing to learn the "right" way to do things, decreased
productivity, and serious problems such as safety violations and, in the
worst-case scenario, fatalities. Depending on the circumstances, you
could face financial loss, prosecution, fines, and even a prison term as
an employer.

TEACHING – LEARNING ACTIVITIES (TLAs)

Activity #2 Panunumpa

1. Explain the nature and scope of the induction process.

- - Induction is the process of introducing a new employee to the job and

the business. It is the process of greeting and welcoming a new employee
and providing him with the basic details he requires to settle in
comfortably and happily and begin working. It's a process of making him
feel at ease and instilling in him a sense of belonging to the
organization. The newcomer's roles and obligations, as well as company
laws, procedures, and regulations, are outlined during the induction
process to familiarize him with the organization. Induction entails more
than just making new employees feel at ease in a strange or unfamiliar
environment. The induction program should be structured in such a way
that it allows employees to be happy at work while still allowing them
to contribute to the organization's goals.

- Induction has its scopes: PLANNING, ORGANIZING, LEADING and CONTROLLING

STEP 1 Determine Objectives

STEP 2 Organize Process
STEP 3 Order and Coordinate Sequence
STEP 4 Follow up, Inductee Adjustments
STEP 5 Control Process

2. Define what induction of personnel is.

Employee induction is the first step in achieving an employee's loyalty.

Induction is designed to introduce the recruit to the job and company,
as well as the organization to the recruit.

3. Enumerate and discuss the objectives of staff inductions.

OBJECTIVES OF INDUCTION PROGRAM EXPLANATION

1) Information Allow any newly appointed staff
member, from the caretaker to the
CEO, to be fully informed about the
community, the position's roles,
relationships, and
responsibilities, the department's
characteristics, and the building
unit to which the inductee will be
assigned.
2) Need Satisfaction The new hire should feel like he

belongs to the company and the

society it represents. The process
should make it easier for the
client to identify with the
organization. It's also important
to anticipate the needs of new
employees for a sense of belonging,
protection, and recognition.
3) Position Compatibility Efforts should be made during the
probationary period to decide if
the man and the role are
compatible, and whether the
department should recognize the
person as a permanent member of the
team.
4) Assistance To aid in the understanding of
goals or the development of
attitudes and skills, plans should
be in place to eliminate the
possibility of individual failure
or maladjustment during the
adjustment period due to a lack of
supervision.
5) Resources Induction should be able to make
full use of all system resources,
both human and material, in order
to assist the inductee in achieving
a satisfactory level of efficiency.
6) Development Induction can improve job
satisfaction and increase the
inductee's ability to perform at a
high level of performance, reducing
the need for supervision.
7) Acceptance Efforts should be focused on
induction. One way to alleviate
members' distrust, mistrust,
aversion, and insecurity regarding
outsiders is to include details
about the inductee to his
coworkers.
8) Assimilation During the induction era, the
organization strives to foster a
positive attitude toward the
system, its mission, policies,
procedures, and staff.
9) Adjustment Every system should expect to see
changes for its employees. The more
an employee can adjust his
behaviors, behavior, emotions, and
experience to the job he is doing,
the better for him and the school
system.
10) Orientation It is required, whether or not an
induction program is in place. A

new system member's acceptable

organizational objective is
orientation. It is in the
organization's best interests to
provide the beginner with firsthand
data and reliable knowledge about
the system's current state.
11) Retention A positive attitude toward the
system should be established in any
newly hired employee, one that will
last throughout their career.
12) Security The goal of the induction process
should be to minimize the
difficulties that a change in
membership will cause for both
current employees and those who are
about to join the system.
13) Continuity To provide details that was not
addressed in detail during the
recruitment and selection process.
Like the actual Recruiter, the
recruiter may not have been able to
fully clarify all of the
implications of a specific role
assignment to the recruit. The
administrator to whom a novice is
assigned is responsible for
completing any remaining tasks.

4. Outline and explain 5 objectives of induction program.

Objective # 1. Introduction of the Company to the New Comers:

The personnel department is in charge of new employee orientation. The
primary goals of induction are to familiarize new workers with their roles
or assignments, the organization's priorities and strategies, its goods or
services, markets, historical history, organizational structure, line of
authority, various positions, and promotion opportunities.

Objective # 2. To Remove Hesitation and Shyness of New Comers:

In the beginning, newcomer employees are hesitant to ask any questions or
seek any details. He is shy and feels out of place in the business. Another
aim of the induction program is to eliminate new employees' reluctance and
shyness.

Objective # 3. To Acquaint the New Comer about Rules and Regulation:

The aim of the induction is to familiarize new employees with the
organization's laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. They must be
aware of the company's code of conduct, promotion, relocation, pay
structure, training, leaves, holidays, health benefits, and social security
measures.

Objective # 4. To Remove Fear and to Develop Confidence:

Since newcomers are unfamiliar with the people, the workplace, and the
working atmosphere, they are fearful. An induction program eliminates all
types of doubts from newcomers' minds and builds trust in them; it instills
in them the belief that their work is extremely valuable and that it must
be recognized by others. A proper opportunity should be given to them for
creative and original activities. In this way their confidence is improved.

Objective # 5. To Develop Honesty, Loyalty and a Sense of Belonging:Since

belonging is only established by induction, a sense of belonging, oneness,
teamwork, work spirit, hard work, and participation in the work and
organization are all developed.

5. What are 3 main merits of staff induction program? Discuss.

3 MAIN MERITS EXPLANATION

Personnel Assimilation Employees can be nervous about
beginning a new job in a new
company, and an orientation program
allows them to learn more about the
company, their position, and working
methods, as well as meet new
coworkers.
Personal Development Staff induction programs assist
employees in understanding the
organization's processes and
procedures. The induction process is
designed to welcome new workers to
the company and assist them in
transitioning into their new
position, allowing them to feel
supported as they adapt.
Security and Need Satisfaction There is evidence that people are
most vulnerable when they first
start a new job; induction training
helps to mitigate this danger and
introduces them to the company's
culture.

STUDENT REFLECTION
REFLECT ON THIS QUOTE:

Always note that treating your staff as valuable members of the team
makes a positive impact on your high-quality customers. It will reveal how you
run the company and how you treat the people who work for you.

See, I'm not suggesting that you start prioritizing your workers right
now just to please your audience; you can't really fake 'employer-employee
ties, confidence, commitment, and, most importantly, a healthy workplace
culture.

When you trust the people, who are able to invest in the company's
growth, you'll see incredible results. “The way your staff feel is the way your
clients would feel,” he adds. Customers would not feel appreciated if the
workers do not feel valued.”

Remember: Customers are important because they help you succeed.
