In Ginza, Tokyo there is a famous bookstore which only stores one book. In today’s lesson we learn about the idea behind the store.

A Bookstore With Only One Book

In Ginza, Japan, there is a very unusual bookstore called Morioka Shoten.
Morioka Shoten only has one book, but the book is changed every week.
When you enter the store, you come across the following message:
Morioka Shoten only has one book. Because there is only one book, the comprehension will be deeper.
Morioka Shoten only has one tiny room. Because it is small, the mind will be closer.
One book, one room. Morioka Shoten.
Morioka Shoten's owner Mr. Morioka says:
"Bookstores have too many books. People don't know which one to pick when they enter."
"So I just thought I'd open a bookstore which only has one book."
Each week we pick a book everyone will like, and then organize some themed exhibitions, meet-the-author events, etc.
This way we can let everyone deepen their understanding about books.
Even though Morioka Shoten only has one book, it is very popular.
Each week a lot of people come to the bookstore to buy books and look at the exhibitions.
