II. COURSE TITLE: SURVEY OF PHILIPPINE LITERATURE IN ENGLISH

IV. COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The course deals with the different forms/genres as exemplified by selected texts from various regions of the Philippines,
written at the different periods in Philippine Literary History. It focuses in Philippine literature, culture and heritage through the years. Students are
expected to appreciate early literature and be able to apply the moral values and knowledge in the present time.

C. Explain the role of literature in the development of the cultural identity of the Filipino people

To pass this course, one must accumulate at least 60 points through the course requirements discussed above. The maximum points that a student
can obtain through each requirement are shown below.
