EEE255 LAB REPORT WORK

EXPERIMENT 5

1. Set up the circuit given in figure x. Adjust Vab = 15 Vpp and

the frequency of the source to 1 KHz, then observe and plot

the generated signal on the graph.

We observe the peak to peak voltage as 15 Vpp (2V/div) on

the oscilloscope.

2. a) Adjust Vab = 20 Vpp and the frequency as 100 Hz, 500 Hz, 1 KHz, 50 KHz, 100 KHz then measure the voltage
across resistor for each frequency.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 20 Vpp (5V/div) on the oscilloscope.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 20 Vpp (5V/div) on the oscilloscope.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 20 Vpp (5V/div) on the oscilloscope.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 20 Vpp (5V/div) on the osciloscope.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 20 Vpp (5V/div) on the osciloscope.

b) Adjust the frequency of source to 1KHz and Vab as 5 Vpp, 10 Vpp, 15 Vpp, 20 Vpp and 25 Vpp then measure

the voltage across the resistor for each Vab.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 5 Vpp (1V/div) on the oscilloscope.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 10 Vpp (2V/div) on the oscilloscope.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 15 Vpp (2V/div) on the oscilloscope.

We measure the peak to peak voltage as 20 Vpp (5V/div) and the frequency as 1 kHz (200 µs/div).

c) Calculate VR(rms) and Irms values for each case and tabulate the results.

5 3.53

VR(rms) = 2
= 3.53Vrms and Irms =
= 1Ω
= 3.53 mA.

10 7.07

VR(rms) = 2
= 7.07 Vrms and Irms =
= 1Ω
= 7.07 mA.

15 10.6

VR(rms) = 2

= 10.6 mA.

20 14.14

VR(rms) = 2

= 14.14 mA.

25 17.67

VR(rms) = 2
= 17.67 Vrms and Irms =
