JIS H 2118 : 2006 Aluminium alloy ingots for die castings 1 Scope This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the aluminium alloy ingots (hereafter referred to as “ingots”) to be used for aluminium die castings. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this Standard. (‘The analysis of chemical components not specified in table 2 should be as agreed between the purchaser and the supplier, in which case the chemical compost tion should be such that the individual components are 0.05 % (mass fraction) or under and the total (25 % (mass fenetion) or under NOTE: The components with the numerical value in () dhould be analyzed only when required by the purchaser me 4. 12118 : 2006 5 Analysis test Chemical composition shall be analyzed in accordance with the fol- lowing : JIS H 1805, JIS H 1306, JIS H 1307, JIS H 1352, JIS H 1353, JIS H 1354, JIS H 1855, JIS H 1856, JIS H 1857, JIS H 1358, JIS H 1359, JIS H 1360, JIS H 1361 and JIS H 1366, ‘The analysis method of chemical composition not listed in table 2 follows the agree- ment between the purchaser and the supplier. 6 Inspection The inspection shall be as follows. a) General matters of inspection shall be in accordance with JIS H 0321, b) In the case of sampling for analysis when ingot is cast, take at least three cast sam ples from each melting. In order to obtain the cast samples having the quality as close to that of ingots as possible, attention shall be paid to the shape and size of the mold and to the time of casting. In the case of sampling from ingots, take cast samples from at least 3 ingots for each melting number. ©) Inspect the appearance of ingots, carry out the tests according to clause 5, and the results shall conform to the requirements in clause 4 7 Marking On any one of the products, packages, or shipping slips, the following particulars shall be marked in an adequate manner. a) Reference to this Standard and class (including purity grade) or symbol Example JISH 2118 AD 12.1 >) Melting number ©) Namo of manufacturer or its abbreviation 8 Report The manufacturer shall submit the results of analysis test to the orderer.
