“ME AT MY BEST”
EL CENTRO INGLÉS
Towards the start of the year you will have been asked to start some simple habits, to look at
your energy and to think about what you want to achieve whilst you are here. Now it is time to
look at yourself and think “who am I when I am at my best?”
This worksheet is designed to get you to ask yourself questions, to reflect and think about your
core values. Take your time with it. Read it and think about it before answering. The more you
put into it the more you will get out of it.
It is important that you take anything you find as an opportunity for growth, to be curious but
not to beat yourself up about any perceived weaknesses. As you get to know yourself you will
find understanding, perspective and choice, options to create empowering decisions.
There may be aspects that appear in both lists such as hard working where it can be a strength
and a weakness.
For example, some of my strengths are determination, communication, and sense of humour.
Some of my weaknesses are being oversensitive, disorganisation and indulgence.
LIABILITIES
ASSETS
Now you have identified your strengths and weaknesses…where do they show up in your life?
Take 5 assets and 5 liabilities and identify an example of where they show up in your life.
Determined When I start a new project I have the drive and determination to see
it through and always give it everything I have
Oversensitive I often take criticism personally and then think about it for days
afterwards, even when something is not my fault or not that important.

Now you have identified your strengths and weaknesses and how they show up. What
reflections do you have on how your assets and liabilities have had an impact on your
life to date?
Who are the people you admire the most and what are the traits that you admire in
those people (they don’t have to be people you know personally).
e.g. My tutor – I admire her positivity, her enthusiasm and her generosity

Next consider these two questions and take some time to contemplate them –
When do you feel most happy, fulfilled, proud and energised? This can be current
actions behaviours or activities, or they might be from your past
I feel most happy when I spend time with my family and friends.
When do you feel most in the flow? These are the times where the inner critic, that
little voice in your head that doubts you shuts up for a while, time goes by fast and
things feel effortless. You might identify current activities that put you in flow, or
things you have done in the past.
I am ….
Affirmations
An affirmation is a short statement that you repeat to yourself over and over. The
more you repeat it the more it manifests in your life. What do you need to believe
about yourself to consistently live in accordance with your core values?
Find 5 affirmations that are right for you and then work them into your life, alarms on
phones, messages on fridges, bookmarks, written on mirrors, post it notes. Be creative.
The important thing is that you are receiving these messages to yourself repeatedly.
For example
Think back to your energy audit and reflect on what behaviours, actions and habits
energize us and leave us feeling good.
Example – My When Life Works list would include training, family time, healthy
nutritious food, reading, hiking, quality time with friends, meditation, journaling, being
creative, listening to good music, playing sport etc.

Daily Deposits
Hopefully by now you are starting to get a good understanding of who you are at your
best. We have spoken about mini wins and daily habits. It is helpful to have a habit
tracker so you can keep track of those daily deposits you make that help to keep you
on track.
You now need to identify those simple daily habits that you can do that really make a
big difference to ensuring you are at your best. The beginning and end of the day are
often when we have most time to ourselves and most control over our time. What can
you commit to including in your life every day that will help keep you at your best?

For the next 30 days the challenge is to really put all of what we have covered so far
into practise.
Identify your AM and PM daily deposits, your morning and evening routines.
Every time you complete the above, give yourself a tick in the tracking sheet below

Journaling Prompts
If you wish to take what you have learnt a little bit further and, as a way to get you into
using your journal to connect with your thoughts and ideas, have a go at the following
questions. Do not filter your writing or make it look good. Try to connect your head
with your heart and write what comes up rather than what you think you “should
write” ….
