EXPECTATIONS
Objectives:
▪ Demonstrate understanding of the concept of dynamics through a wide variety of
dynamic levels
▪ Identify the different dynamic marks in the song.
▪ Use varied dynamics in a song performance.

PRETEST

Write True if the statement is correct and False if it is not. Write the answer on
the space provided.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Dynamics refer to the loudness and softness of music and are marked in Italian
words. It beautifully adjusts the degrees of sound volume when a song or piece is
performed. Dynamics help listeners to feel the emotion and the mood of music. It adds
beauty and expression in a musical composition. Below are some examples of dynamic
levels, their meanings and their symbolic markings.

ACTIVITIES
ACTIVITY 1: Write the missing letters to complete each dynamic marking.

ACTIVITY 2: Sort all dynamic markings from softest to loudest and write their
meanings underneath the chart.

ACTIVITY 3: Sing “Sitsiritsit” by following the dynamic marks in each line of the
song.

ACTIVITY 4: Analyze the musical score “Magtanin ay Masaya”. In your notebook,
answer the questions that follow. Then perform the song through a video
presentation to be submitted to your teacher.
