 The Catholic Church Against Rizal Law and Senator Claro M. Recto.Those who
opposed the Rizal Bill painted Recto as communist and anti-Catholic. According to
Abinales and Amoroso (2005), the Church feared the bill would violate freedom of
conscience and religion.

 The Rizal bill allowed the government to Authorizing the Printing and Distribution

b. Why do we need to study the Rizal Law?
 It is important to study the life of Jose Rizal because of his input towards the
independence of Philippines. He chose to fight for his country through knowledge
and the power of letters. He noticed the continued suffering of his countrymen at the
hands of the Spaniards and sought to put an end to this situation.
c. What can you benefit from studying Jose Rizal’s life and works?
 The benefits of studying Rizal’s life and works is to recognize the importance of
Rizal's ideals and teachings in relation to present conditions and situations in the
society. The major lesson we can learn from Dr. Jose Rizal is love for God, country
and countrymen. their bravery and courage, he is the gentlest and noblest.
3. Why did Rizal consider Cervantes the best writer of art and virtue “in his literary piece, “The
Council of the council of the gods (El consejo del los Dioses)?” Justify your answer in no more
than three (3) sentences.
 Rizal consider Cervantes the best writer of art and virtue because of his writing
style.Cervantes switches between a style of narration that Boccacio employed in the
Decamaron a renowned collection of tales-to a more modern style. And because
Cervantes is a great experimenter.
4. What drove the filipino to activately pursue Rizal’s literary works in their quest for national
identity? Justify your answer in no more than three (3) sentences.
 For me, they help to solved the problem in national identity by the use of their
talents.As a filipino people I should use my ability and skill to show how I love my
country, how I really proud what my identities is.
