Explain the meaning of the concept of “Assertiveness” and discuss how you

make use of each of this concept practically in your lives.

People have different skills and talents with them which is helpful to do their jobs and

to perform day today activities. These different types of skills help people to success

their activities and perform tasks smoothly and effectively [ CITATION exa20 \l 2057 ] .

Today with the developments people are more connected with others with the social

media platforms and other means. Communication can be simply defined as an act

which is transferring data and information from one place, person or group to another

place. With developments, social connectedness is important, and communication

happen with society is much important. Assertiveness is important to people, Mayo

(2020) states that assertive is helpful to control once anger and stress.

Assertiveness is a core communication skill that helps to articulate persons self

effectively and stand up for their own point of view while respecting to other people

rights and beliefs. By being assertive, people have the chance of boosting

themselves for self- esteem and gain others respect. With the characteristics of

mutual respect over others, assertiveness has become an effective and diplomatic

communication style. Also, by being assertive it shows the self- respect on

themselves as the person is willing to stand up for the interest and expenses their

thoughts and feelings [ CITATION May201 \l 2057 ].

Being assertive is helpful people to get ahead and conduct their work more

smoothly. Amy Gallo (2012) states that assertive people conduct their work more

effectively my giving their ideas on what they feel and think, requesting for the

resources that they required, ask for raises and they do not get no as an answer to

their requirements. Further Lauren Zander shows that it is important to have the right
amount of assertiveness with individuals to become an effective leader [ CITATION

Amy12 \l 2057 ].

Madeline (2009) identified assertiveness as standing up for themselves which is as

individuals behaviour style that is communicating and expressing their thoughts,

feelings, wants and needs in a more positive, explicit and honest method while

recognizing the rights and needs of others. Relationship development is much

important. Assertiveness accelerates the relationship building and increase the

negotiation skills and responsibilities to perform activities while motivating people to

get connected. Assertiveness is helpful to increase communication, develop

confident and increase decision making skills, increase self- respects and increase

Assertiveness is helpful individuals to set goals and objectives in their lives and stick

to them through accelerating capabilities of handling situations and perform the

challenging tasks. With the relationship building and with the increasing social

communication people get the chance of increasing the connectiveness and perform

tasks more effectively [ CITATION Amy12 \l 2057 ].

Being Assertive is much important and it can be developed through making

decisions that are positively assert of yourself, aiming towards to develop open and

straightforward communication, developing active listening skills, by being

developing self- respect [ CITATION Bet12 \l 2057 ].

Assertive people are respecting themselves and their energy and they practice

controlling themselves. With this people have the capability of managing stress and

have the possibility of solving the conflicts more effectively. With the confident
building and self- confidence people have the more capability to perform the tasks

effectively [ CITATION San20 \l 2057 ].
