Webinar Title: “Unfolding the Facts and Myths of PCOS”

Platform: Google Meet/ Facebook Live
II. RATIONALE
This upcoming November 23, 2021, the BSN 3B - Group II will conduct their
webinar about Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) with the theme “Unfolding the
Facts and Myths of PCOS”. PCOS is a complex hormonal, metabolic and
reproductive disorder that increases women’s risk of different diseases and infertility.
Public awareness about this disease is necessary as it will provide knowledge about
reproductive health for women.
This webinar aims to educate adolescents of the possible signs and symptoms of
PCOS, factors causing this condition, how to diagnose, and discuss the appropriate
interventions when handling patients with such disease. It is an important part of
reproductive health for many women, as knowing the symptoms of this disorder can
lead to effective care.

III. OBJECTIVES
1. To discuss the definition of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
2. To further elaborate the disease process and it's signs and symptoms, as well as
the causes.
3. To discuss possible complications from having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
4. To discuss diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
5. To enumerate ways on how to manage and prevent further complications.
6. To debunk common myths and misconceptions about Polycystic Ovarian
Syndrome.
