Scene 1 (Storybook pages 8-9, at the mess hall)
Characters: Jack, Eric, Camper Aaron, Bella
The campers are having breakfast at the mess hall. Jack and Bella are both
annoyed after learning the mess hall’s food rule.
Eric What are we having for breakfast?
Jack It smells like pancakes. I love pancakes!
Camper [serious] OK, here’s the rule. If you eat the last one,
Aaron you go get more.
Jack [annoyed] That’s not fair. Eric took three pancakes,
but I only got one.
Camper [eating] It’s your turn, Jack. That’s the rule. It’s not
Aaron that bad.
Jack How are you doing, Bella?
Bella [annoyed] I’m OK, but I took the last glass of juice.
Jack [annoyed] Yeah, I took the last pancake.
Are you ready for your activities?
Bella I have swimming first. I need to change into my swimsuit.
Jack We’ll have time before our first activity.
Bella Yeah, we’ll have fun cleaning first.

Scene 2 (Storybook page 13-15, in front of the stables)
Characters: Jack, Camper Sunny, Chris, Bad Boy1
Jack and the campers are with Camper Sunny for horseback riding. Chris
and his friends tease Jack about his clothes. Jack is angry.
Camper [glad] Howdy, Jack. Are you ready to ride some
Sunny
horses?
Jack [excited] I think so, but I never rode a horse before.
Camper Horses are very sweet and gentle.
Sunny I’ll bring out Buttercup, and you can meet her.
Chris [mean] You look like a dork. Cowboy Dork!
That’s your name. [laughing at Jack]
Jack [upset] My name’s Jack, and I’m not a dork.
Chris [teasing and mean] No, Your name’s cowboy Dork.
Only a dork dresses likes that. Give me your hat, dork!
Jack [angry yelling] No, I don’t want to.
Bad Boy 1 [laughing while stealing Jack’s hat]
Jack [yelling angrily] Hey, give that back!
Chris [teasing] Do you want it? Come and get it, Cowboy
Dork. [laughing]

Jack [yelling angrily] Give me my hat back, or you’ll be sorry.
Chris [teasing] Oh, are you going to fight me? Come take
your dorky hat back.
[teasing] How does that dirt taste, Cowboy Dork? Characters: Jack, Eric, Rob, Chris, Camper Aaron
[laughing]
Camper [surprised] What’s going on here? Jack, are you OK? there. Chris teases Jack, and Rob tells Chris to stop. They start fighting and
Sunny What are you doing on the ground?
Jack [calmly] I’m fine, Camper Sunny. I just tripped. [sigh]
Scene 3 (Storybook pages 16 -17, in Otter Cabin)
Characters: Jack, Eric
Jack and Eric are talking about Chris. Jack is very angry because Chris was
teasing him. Eric is trying to help Jack.
Jack [angry] I hate this hat! I hate these boots too!
Eric [surprised and calm] Jack, Chris is just a bully. Rob [angry] What’s wrong with you?
Don’t listen to him. Your hat and boots are just fine.
I’m sorry I didn’t stand up for you.
Jack Don’t worry about it. It’s not your fault.
Eric What if we make fun of Chris’ scar?
Jack [thinking] Then we’re the bullies. I don’t want that.
Eric [confused] Well, what can we do?
Jack [nervous] I don’t know, but I’m worried. I don’t want
to see Chris tomorrow at horseback riding.

Eric [in a hurry] Well, it’s time for the next activity. Let’s talk later.
Scene 4 (Storybook pages 20-21, in front of the nature study classroom)
Jack and his friends go to the nature study classroom. They meet Chris
get into trouble.
Eric [excited] Today went fast. I can’t believe it’s our last
activity already.
Rob Hey, guys! It’s time for nature study.
Let’s head over there together.
Jack [nervous] Oh no...
Chris [teasing] Well, well, well... It’s Cowboy Dork.[laughing]
Where’s your hat and boots, Cowboy Dork?
Why are you so mean to people?
Chris [surprised and angry] Oh? Are you going to fight for
Cowboy Dork?
Rob [brave] Maybe I will.
Camper [angry] Hey! What’s going on here?
Aaron
We will have no fighting. Both of you are going to visit
Head Camper Patrick right now.
Jack [worried] Oh no. Now, Rob’s in trouble, and it’s all my fault.

 Scene 5 (Storybook pages 26 - 27, around the campsite) Jack [proud] Thanks. I like it too.
Characters: Jack, Eric, Chris, Camper Sunny, Girl 1, Boy 1 Horse [licking Jack’s face] Slurp!

Jack and the other campers are hanging around the campsite. Chris shows Jack [embarrassed laughter]
up and teases Jack and his friends. Chris starts to fight Jack but is stopped
by Camper Sunny. Girl 1 [laughing]
and Boy1
Jack [whistling happily]

Eric [happy] I’m glad you’re wearing your hat and boots,
Jack.

Chris [teasing] Cowboy Dork’s back, and he wore his dorky

clothes again.

Eric [worried] Be nice, Chris.

Chris Cowboy Dork has a sidekick! [mean laughing]

Jack [ignoring Chris] I like my clothes, and I’m going to

wear them. You can’t hurt me.

Chris and [surprised at Jack’s response]

Bad boys

Chris [very angry] Oh, I’ll hurt you. I’ll give you a black eye.

Camper [angry] Chris, I heard that! Fighting is against the

Sunny camp rules. We’re going to Head Camper Patrick’s
office. Follow the rules, or he’ll send you home.

Jack [relieved] Phew.

Girl 1 I like your hat, Jack. [cute laughing]

Boy1 Yeah! [laughing happily]
