Mixability:
The DUNLOP and MESSIER-BUGATTI main wheels and brakes are not mixable.
However, it is possible to have the main landing gear equipped with parts from
MESSIER-BUGATTI package (wheels + brakes) and the nose landing gear equipped
with parts from DUNLOP package and vice-versa.

C. DESCRIPTION
Accomplishment of this Service Bulletin consists in carrying out the following jobs:
(1) Removal of the left and right main landing gear wheels/tyres assembly

(2) Removal of the left and right main landing gear brakes
(3) Installation of the new left and right main landing gear DUNLOP brakes
(4) Installation of the new main landing gear DUNLOP wheels/tyres assembly

3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. GENERAL
The following instructions assume that work will be accomplished when the aircraft is in
the appropriate maintenance configuration.
B. JOB SET-UP
(1) Put the aircraft on jacks as per AMM (JIC) 07-12-00 JUP 10000.
(2) Check that the safety pins are in position and their red marker flags visible.

(7) On ground service panel display warning notice prohibiting the pressurization of the
hydraulic systems.
- Make certain that the parking brake is applied (EMER/PARK handle pulled).
- Display a warning notice prohibiting the handle movement.
(9) Install brake shoe locking tie rod avoid brake assembly movement (if available).
(10) Before performing any type of maneuvers warn surrounding personnel of your
intentions.
(11) Never make adjustment without first isolating hydraulic power and positioning MLG
safety pins.
C. MODIFICATION
(1) Removal of the left and right main landing gear wheels/tyres assembly
As per Figure 1
(a) Remove:
NOTE 1: The removal of the screws item 2 and the cover plates item 1 are
applicable for outboard wheels only.
Do not disengage the traducer assembly item 7 and the bushing
item 12 from the main landing gear wheel axle.
NOTE 2: The removal of the plugs item 14 is valid for aircraft not equipped with
modification No. 03144 or Service Bulletin No. ATR72-32-1018.

(2) Removal of the left and right main landing gear brakes
As per Figure 2
(b) Remove:

(c) Disconnect the hydraulic pipe from inlet port. Install protective cap to pipe and
plug the brake inlet port.
(d) Remove the main landing gear MESSIER-BUGATTI brakes C20585700 item 18
(not re-used).
(3) Installation of the new left and right main landing gear DUNLOP brakes
As per Figure 2
(a) Install:
In such a way that the proper hole fits the trailing arm torque spigot.

(d) Install:

(e) Perform brake hydraulic line bleeding as per AMM (JIC) 32-42-00 BLD 10010.
(4) Installation of the new main landing gear DUNLOP wheels/tyres assembly
As per Figure 1
Install the tyres (retained at removal) on the new DUNLOP wheels as per
CMM 32-42-92:
(b) Inflate the tyres as per AMM (JIC) 32-41-00 CHK 10010.
(c) Visually inspect hubcap item 3 and wheel axle for general condition as per
AMM (JIC) 32-41-00 GVI 10000.
Degrease and clean wheel axle with white spirit, Material No. 11-024 (Refer to
SRM 51-35-00).
(d) Lightly smear grease Material No. 04-004B (Refer to SRM 51-35-00) on the
wheel axle.

(f) Carefully fit wheel/tyre assembly, item 9 on wheel axle, engaging the 8 disks
drive keys of the wheel in the respective keyslots in the outside diameter of the
rotating disk. The wheel should stop against brake assembly.
(g) Make certain that axle nut threads are clean and free from burrs.
(h) Apply grease Material No. 04-004B (Refer to SRM 51-35-00) to axle threads and
axle nut threads, and to all load-bearing surface of axle nut.
(j) Screw axle nut item 8 onto the axle until it is snug and pre torque at 17.6 daN.m
(1560 lbf.in) while manually rotating the wheel. Back off the nut to zero torque but
with all parts still seated. Retighten nut at final torque 5.8 daN.m (516 lbf.in) while
manually rotating the wheel.
If the nut is not at a locking position advance it to the next locking position.
(k) Position bushings item 12 and transducer item 7 in the main landing gear wheel
axle.
NOTE: Safety the screws item 6 with lockwire MS20995C32 item 10.
(l) Fit:
4 spacer Item 11 *
Install:
NOTE 1: The screws item 2 and the cover plates item 1 are applicable for
outboards wheels only.
NOTE 2: The installation of the plugs item 14 is valid for aircraft not equipped
with modification No. 03144 or Service Bulletin No. ATR72-32-1018.

D. TESTS
Remove safety clip and tag, and close the following circuit breaker:
- (FIN1GA) LDG GEAR/LDG GEAR CTL & PRIM DET SYS/SPLY & IND
Remove safety clips and tags, and close the following circuit breakers:
(3) Install the safety stop to the EMER/PARK brake accumulator discharge valve.
(4) Pressurize the blue hydraulic system as per AMM (JIC) 29-00-00 PAD 10010, and
make sure that the brake accumulator gauge shows 3000 PSI.
E. CLOSE-UP
(2) Position wheel shocks under the main landing gear wheels.
(7) Lower the aircraft on its wheels as per AMM (JIC) 07-12-00 JUP 10000.
(8) Check the tyres pressure as per AMM (JIC) 32-41-00 CHK 10010.
