NOTE 1: This Service Bulletin is applicable only on aircraft equipped with the
modification No. 05562 or Service Bulletin No. ATR72-32-1049.
NOTE 2: This Service Bulletin can be embodied on other ATR72 aircraft with
variations in some cases. If other ATR72 operators wish to embody this
Service Bulletin, please contact ATR.

Mixability: The DUNLOP and MESSIER-BUGATTI nose wheels are not mixable.
However, it is possible to have the main landing gear equipped with parts
from MESSIER-BUGATTI package (wheels + brakes) and the nose
landing gear equipped with parts from DUNLOP package and vice-versa.

3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. GENERAL
The following instructions assume that work will be accomplished when the aircraft is in
the appropriate maintenance configuration.
B. JOB SET-UP
(2) Check that the landing gear ground locking pins are in place.
C. MODIFICATION
As per Figure 1

As per Figure 1
Install the tyres (retained at removal) on the new DUNLOP wheels as per
CMM 32-42-91:
Degrease and clean wheel axle with white spirit, Material No. 11-024 (Refer to
SRM 51-35-00).
NOTE: Use only grease Material No. 04-004B (Refer to SRM 51-35-00) to
lubricate.
CAUTION: Do not apply any rubber compound in the area near and between
shock absorber and internal axle spacer.
(f) Apply grease to axle threads, axle nut threads and to all load-bearing surfaces of
axle nut.

(g) Thread:
onto the axle until it is snug and tighten at a pre torque value of 4 daN.m
(360 lbf.in) while manually rotating the wheel. Back off the nut to zero torque but
with all parts still seated. Retighten nut at a final torque value of 1.3 daN.m
(120 lbf.in) while manually rotating the wheel.
If the nut is not at a locking position, advance it to the next locking position.
(h) Fit:
Install:
NOTE: If unlocking friction of nuts item 2 is less than 0.02 daN.m (1.8 lbf.in)
discard nuts.
(j) Install:
Rotate bolt assembly thru 180°, and form cotter pin end over to secure.
