Weekly Plan – April 14rd – April 17h

We are starting a new Unit today! In this month we are going to be learning about Bugs
and Crawly things, are you ready for this new unit? 😊

The first week we will be talking about Backyard Bugs, such as Ladybug, Spider,
Grasshopper, Ant and Bee. I really hope we enjoy this new unit and learn a lot about this!
Tuesday 14th: Ladybug
Circle time:
• Morning greeting
• Mindfulness
• Calendar and weather
• Numbers and colors
• Discussion: What bugs do you know that can fly?

Name Dots:
• What do you know that has spots?
Invite the children to explore the room or outdoor area and search for things with spots.
Discuss bugs and animals that have spots, such as ladybugs, butterflies or giraffes.

Craft:
Look at the inspiration photo.
• What do you think ladybug eats?
• Ladybugs eat aphids, scale insects, and other garden pests.

Wednesday 15th: Spider

Friday 17th: Ant & Bee

• Show and tell!
• Discussion: What work do you think an ant does?
• Play with your mom or dad: move according to the preposition she/he tell you.

Bee is a Bug
• What do you know about bees?
• How do you think a bee makes a buzzing sound? What sounds can you make with
your body?
• Honeybees dance to give precise directions to others about the location of food
sources. They do a “round” dance if the food source is near, and a “waggle” if it is
far.
