2 Show activity Hi,

I'm trying to make a Scheduled Task using AD GPO for Windows 10. I've tried many times and the task
will not appear.
0 The task if to do a test using a kix script and shutdown the PC at the end of the working day between
Sign in 5pm and 9pm if no one is logged in and after 10pm shutdown regardless.
to vote Is using GPO to make a task basically deprecated in Windows 10? If so, what alternatives are there?
Can SCCM do this sort of thing? We use SCCM (Current Branch) but not got it to do shutdown clients
reliably, but we were just guessing, any guides on this would be helpful if GPO based Scheduled Tasks
are deprecated.

Hi Steven,

Based on the test in my lab, scheduled tasks can be created in Windows 10 through group policy. In
this case, I'd like to collect more details to narrow down this issue:
0 1. How many Domain Controllers are there in the environment? What is the operating system
Sign in version, and are they working properly?

2. Has the GPO applied to the client? Please have a try running gpresult /r for checking.
3. What are the setting of the task? It would be helpful for us to identify the problem if you could
upload the screenshots.

In addition, please have a try to create scheduled task through group policy like the following figure
and see if it works:

I am facing a similar issue and the suggested solution didn't work. The Scheduled task works on
Windows 7 but not on Windows 10 systems. PDC is 2008 R2.

Please help!

Thank you for your response but this isn't working with my 2008 R2 DC and Windows 10 member
systems. Do you recommend upgrading the DC to Server 2016 and trying this? Is it a known issue
which prevents this specific GPO to not work with this combination?

Yep you can do this. I've experienced a issue like that but after updating my servers and a DC to win
srv 2016 problem has been solved.
