1. Which global city in the world would you like to visit?

The Global City that I would like to visit is Tokyo City, Japan because of its vast culture and
wonderful place. I want to experience Tokyo’s night life and wonders even just for short period
of time.

2. List 5 positive and 5 negative expectations that you have in mind about the place.
Positive

Beautiful scenery, wonderful culture, Friendly environment, Fast paced life, Fun activities

Negative

Language barrier, Culture Shock, Crowded Street, Price of commodities, Hard to communicate

3. What insight you desire to learn to a certain place you plan to visit? Explain.
Everyone wants to travel for different personal reasons. Whether it may be for business, family
visitations or just to see the world. Someday, I would like to visit Tokyo, Japan. As one of the
world's leading and fast-growing city every traveler should visit. The history, culture, products,
heritage, lifestyle, music, entertainment is truly something a traveler should experience.

1. Compare the Asian global cities in the world to that of the Western.
Asian global city follows the step of the Western's global city. It cannot be denied that top global
cities are located in Western, however, Asian are continuously thriving to step up on their level
and I think that is what important the most. Asian are doing their best and improve their own
cities.

2. Cite 5 characteristics of a global city.

Briefly discuss the significance of each of the characteristics in the development of a global
city.
1. Home to major stock exchanges and indexes. - Stock exchanges for example the London
Stock Exchange, the New York Stock Exchange or the Tokyo Stock Exchange that have
influence over the world economy.

2. Influential in international political affairs. - Active influence and participation in international


events and world affairs; for example, New York City is home to the United Nations
headquarters complex and consequently contains a vast majority of the permanent missions to
the UN.

3. Home to world-renowned cultural institutions. - Offer several international cultures and


communities such as a Chinatown, a Little Italy, or other immigrant communities.

4. Large mass transit networks. - large mass transit network offering multiple modes of
transportation. For example, rapid transit, light rail, regional rail, ferry, or bus.

5. Home to a large international airport. - A major international airport, for example, London
Heathrow Airport that serves as an established hub for several international airlines.
