JUDICIAL AFFIDAVIT OF
KRISTHIAN MARK MAESTRAL

(Judicial Affidavit in Questions and Answers form, of the statement of KRISTHIAN MARK
MAESTRAL, in English language which the witness fully understood, taken by Atty. Robert F.
Catolico II, Notary Public, on June 02, 2021, 1pm in the afternoon in his law office at Room 207,
La Salette Bldg., Valeria St., Iloilo City, Philippines. The witness KRISTHIAN MARK
MAESTRAL is answering the questions asked of him, fully conscious that he does so under
oath, and may face criminal liability for false testimony or perjury, if he testify falsely).

Questions by Atty. ROBERT F. CATOLICO II:

Q: Mr. witness, do you swear to tell the truth and nothing but the truth in this statement taken on
you under oath, in connection of the investigation for “ESTAFA thru Falsification of
Commercial Documents/Qualified Theft” filed with the National Bureau of Investigation
(NBI-Iloilo) by Jesse E. Pareja, owner of Danao Dragon J. Poultry Farm against Jerry Hopilos
and George Bacos.

Answer: Yes, Sir.

1.) Q: Please state your name, age, status and other personal circumstances:

A: I am KRISTHIAN MARK MAESTRAL, 22 years old, single and resident of Brgy.

Sto. Nino, San Miguel, Iloilo, Philippines.

2.) Q: Where do you work and what kind of work do you do?

A: I work as a receiving and dispatching unit clerk (RDU clerk) in Savemore Grocery
store, GT Mall, Pavia, Iloilo City, Philippines.

3.) Q: When did you start working there?

A: I started working there on May 29, 2020, last year.

4.) Q: What kind of work do you perform?

A: My obligation is to check the volume of crates and not to check the number or pieces
of eggs that are brought inside and outside the mall.

5.) Q: What happened on October of 2020 regarding this complaint filed with the NBI,
Iloilo?

A: Our supervisor conducted an inventory and found out that many boxes of eggs were
missing which amounted to a loss of P2,000,000.00.

6.) Q: What happened next?

A: A day after, our store managers Ma’am Joy and Ma’am Elena and the Head of the
Human Resource Division conducted a hearing and investigate the employees whose work have
relation to the possession and monitoring of the missing eggs.

7.) Q: What happened during the hearing?

 A: I was asked by Ma’am Joy of what are my duties regarding the monitoring of the eggs.

8.) Q: What did you answer to Ma’am Joy?

A: I told her that every time there is a delivery of eggs, we require the persons who
deliver to produce any kind of Identification Card or proof of their identities to record it in a
book so that we can know their details and information. We also have CCTV cameras to see the
persons entering and leaving the warehouse located at the back of the grocery store.

9.) Q: What else if any did you tell Ma’am Joy?

A: I also told her that we count the number of crates that are being delivered and not the
number of eggs one by one. We were afraid that if we count the eggs one by one inside the
crates, the eggs will crack and will be charged against our salaries.

10.) Q: What happened after the hearing?

A: A week after the hearing, I was forced to sign a contract that stated that my contract
shall end in two (2) weeks.

11.) Q: What is your purpose in making this affidavit today?

A: I only want to clarify my non-involvement in the criminal act committed by the

persons who delivered the eggs, namely, Jerry Hopilos and George Bacos.

12.) Q: Do you have anything else to say, if any?

A: I did not act in conspiracy and I do not have any agreement with them regarding the
incident that happened in our workplace. I only work to earn money to support my needs and
family.

13.) Are you willing to sign this statement under oath and to testify as a witness in court
if called to do so?

A: Yes, Sir.
