Main Device in My Final Project

My final is about monitoring and controlling solar power plants, and one of the
important tools used is HMI. There are 3 working modes of PLTS mode, PLN Mode and
HYBRID Mode mode which can be controlled by selecting the mode using ATS / AMF
panel using PLC module and Human Machine Interface. Maybe you have never heard of
an HMI, but I’ll bet you encounter them pretty regularly. HMI is short for human machine
interface. We use HMI in industry to control and monitor machines.
Lets talk about industrial HMI now. It would be hard to have a good automated
process in industry without HMI. many times an hmi will be in the form of a screen, kind of
like a computer screen, and more times than not, they are touch screen. An operator can
operate and monitor the machine from the hmi. they may include information like
temperature, pressure, process steps, and material counts. They can also show very precise
levels in tanks and excact postioning of machines. Where machine information used to be
viewed on multiple indicators can now be viewed on one screen. The possibilities are only
limited to the software and hardware used. Many hmi can also connect to plc logic and
display it on screen for troubleshooting purposes. Another benefit of having a modern hmi is
the fact that plants and other industrial sites, can monitor and control multiple machines or
other equipmet.
This is the working principle of my final
project. There are 3 working modes of PLTS
mode, PLN Mode and HYBRID Mode mode
which can be controlled by selecting the mode
using ATS / AMF panel using PLC module and
Human Machine Interface. In PLN mode the
entire electrical load will be supplied from PLN.
In PLTS mode is used when there is a power
outage PLN with the load of lighting installed at this time is 11 points with each At 50 watts
of power but on this PLTS will be supplied only 6 points of light so that the total power of
Watt. In HYBRID mode the use of PLTS energy source is operated for 3 hours from 17.30 to
20.30 with the current installed lighting load is 11 points with 50 Watt of power but on this
PLTS which will n HYBRID mode the use of PLTS energy source is operated for 3 hours
from 17.30 to 20.30 with the current installed lighting load is 11 points with 50 Watt of
power but on this PLTS which will be supplied only 6 point of light so that its total power is
6 x 50 = 300 Watt. While other electrical loads are supplied from PLN. In PLN mode, PLTS
mode and HYBRID mode can be set manually and automatically through the Human
Machine Interface and PLC modules. For AC monitoring system use AC power meter with
AC Flow measurement, AC Voltage, Power consumption, Energy consumption in electrical
load. For DC monitoring system use DC power meter with DC current measurement, DC
voltage, DC Power on solar panel. Data can be monitored and controlled in realtime from
local control with HMI and PLC with Modbus RTU communication. Data can be monitored
and controlled in realtime from master control with PLC, SCADA with Modbus Ethernet
TCP / IP communication.
How does the HMI actually connect to the machine of my TA to be able to control
and monitor it? First hmi use special software so engineers can program them correctly.
Different brands of panel use different software accordingly. The software allows the
engineer to design what the operator can actually see on the screen, what buttons can be on
the screen, what buttons can be pushed, and how the operator can manipulate the machine.
Hmi and plc need to be compatible. This means they need to be able to talk to each other,
Once the plc and hmi are talking the whatever is programmed into the HMI can be used to
monitor and control PLC functions.
And this is the specification of HMI that I use
HMIGXU3512
- 7 inch wide screen
- Universal model
- 2 serial ports,
- 1 Ethernet port,
- embeddedRTC
