Entrepreneurship Theories and Empirical research

Economic Entrepreneurship Theories


Economic Entrepreneurship Theories- according to this theory, an entrepreneur executes all
activities due to economic incentives. The main aim of this theory is profit motive. In economics,
entrepreneurship is closely related to the land, labor and natural resources and capital that can
help to generate profit. Economic theories of entrepreneurship is divided into three different time
periods, into classical, neo-classical and Austrian market process. This three are the different
approaches in explaining entrepreneurship. Classical the role of an entrepreneur to producers and
distributors of goods in the market. Neo-classical described an entrepreneur as the people who,
along with the production of goods, undertake business risk, identify new opportunities, and
simultaneously reduce costs for a business. The Austrian Market Process (AMP) focused on
human actions based on their knowledge. These theorists defined an entrepreneur to be creative
and imaginative on his work and how they see a profitable opportunity.

Psychological Entrepreneurship Theory


Psychological theories of entrepreneurship focus on the individual and the mental or the
emotional elements that drive entrepreneurial individuals. As a entrepreneur it is their job to
encourage individuals by their sense of achievement often seek challenges and they like to thrive
on it. They like to evaluate and act on feedback to perform better.

Sociological Entrepreneurship Theory


Sociological Theory is different to other theories because they analyze entrepreneurial
activities from the very point of social context and the corresponding processes and affects. It
focuses on social possible to happen.

Anthropological Theory
Anthropological Theory says that for someone to successful initiate a venture the social
and cultural contexts should be examined or considered.
Resource-Based Entrepreneurship Theories
Resource-Based Theories are those entrepreneurial that are very resourceful. The
resourceful entrepreneurial are the valuable ones, rare, difficult to imitate and non-substitutable
best position a firm long-term success. Their strategy resource can provide the foundation to
develop firm capabilities that can lead a better and good performance.

Opportunity-Based Entrepreneurship Theory


Opportunity-Based Entrepreneurship Theories is a theory that the creation of
entrepreneurship ideas is based on the approach of benefit from opportunities. For example of
this, where a business that has chances for senior citizens might have the big chance to open a
club and give opportunity.
Activity 2
1. Explain the importance of EPP in the holistic development of the learner for the improvement
of their quality of life, their family and their community.
-EPP develops technical skills in agri-fishery, home economics, industrial arts and
entrepreneurship. These are important skills that can arm against this world filled laziness and
ignorance.

2. Why does EPP considered as dominantly skilled subject?


-EPP is considered as skilled subject because this subject requires teachers to have a knowledge
on this curriculum because they are going to share their knowledge and skills to their students.
And this subject also your skills will be test it talks about all your works and possible works to
do.

3. Based on the curriculum guide, list down the level standard of teaching EPP in grade 4-6.
Grade 4- The learners demonstrates basic knowledge, skills, and values in agriculture,
entrepreneurship and ICT home economics and industrial arts that can help improve self and
family life.
Grade 5- the learner demonstrates increased knowledge, skills and values entrepreneurship and
ICT agriculture, home economics and industrial arts toward improving family life and the
community.
Grade 6- the learner demonstrates enhances and expanded knowledge in entrepreneurship and
ICT, agriculture, home economics and industrial arts toward the improvement of the family
economic life and the community.

1. Why is it important to teach industrial arts to elementary and secondary
students?

- Teaching industrial arts to elementary and secondary students is very important


because it enhance their skills in early age. It gives them a chance to learn more and
to look forward what’s the best, and they will be exposed on doing simple home
repair and other things that is related on industrial arts , and also when you teach
industrial arts in elementary and secondary it has a big chance that they will learn a
lot and easily .

2. How does industrial arts contribute in the achievement of human activities?

- Industrial arts has a big contribution in the achievement of human activities by


learning simple activities feel like you are also doing exercise. It also enhanced our
skills and improves their basics learning on doing basic home repair.

3. How does industrial arts help our economy?

- Industrial arts help our economy grow by instead of employing workers that is living
from other places we can employ people that is just living here in our country. It helps
our economy by working on our own home country than going to other country to
work. There will be a lot of job that is related to industrial and many companies are
offers and looking for workers.

1. What is instructional planning in your own understanding

- Instructional planning is the teachers are the one who will plan the lesson that he/she teach to
the students for the next day and strategies he/ she will use, strategies that is appropriate.
Instructional planning, “Planning” term is act or process of making or carrying the plans. Your
plan is for your students that must they will learn something because it also your duty to do this
and to address the needs of your students is your goal.

2. Elucidate the phrase “ Teachers are curricular-instructional gatekeepers”

- teachers are curricular-instructional gatekeepers, as what we have discussed last meeting that
teacher are the one who will give to students a new idea or learning teachers are the one who will
open the gate or the brain of the students. The teachers are the one who will decides what
strategies they will use in order to meet students needs. Teachers teach with all of her, they invest
much effort to their teaching.
