A Simple Sentence is one independent clause.

A sentence is a group of words that you use to communicate your idea.

Every sentence is formed from one or more clauses and expresses a complete
thought. The four basic kind of sentences English are simple, compound, complex
and compound-complex. The kind of sentence is determined by the kind of
clauses used to from it.

Example
1s 1v - I play football.
2s 1v - I play football and you play football.
1s 2v - You play football when you are free.
2s 2v - I play football every day, but you play football when you are free.

1. (1s1v) Simple sentence – ประโยคความเดียว คือ ประโยคที่มี dependent

clause 1 ประโยคเท่านัน

ประโยคที่มี dependent clause 2 ประโยคขึน
้ ไป และมีคำเชื่อม coordinating conjunction
(and, but, or, so, for, nor, yet) เป็ นตัวเชื่อม

3. (1s 2v) Complex sentence – ประโยคความซ้อน คือ ประโยคที่มี dependent

clause 1 ประโยคเท่านัน
้ ถ้ามี independent clause 1 ประโยคหรือมากว่า เนื่องจากมี
clause ซ้อนอยู่ มันเลยได้ช่ อ
ื ว่า complex sentence เพราะตัวที่ซ้อนคือ dependent clause

4. (2s2v) Compound – Complex sentence – ประโยคความรวมความซ้อน

ประกอบไปด้วย ประโยคความรวม และประโยคความซ้อนรวมอยุด
