I- ASSESSMENT/ QUIZZES:

Direction: Determine the differences and similarities of the three models of Curriculum
Development Process.

How are the models similar?

Similar Features Tyler’s Taba’s Saylor & Alexander

Both objective based They both have a

and both include specific objectives that
Tyler xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
evaluation process need to be
accomplished.

Their models both They both specify

emphasize on the major educational
planning phase xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx goals.
Taba

Saylor and Their models are both

Alexander’s model designed that follows
included the four appropriate learning
Saylor & Alexander phases of Curriculum opportunities, and Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Development Process how opportunities are
provided.

All of the models utilize the process of curriculum planning,

Comment: curriculum designing, curriculum implementing and curriculum
evaluating. Also, all of the models has there considerations to follow
and to be made and as what I have observed, the similarity is that,
there’s always an evaluation at the end.
How are the models different?

Different features Tyler’s Taba’s Saylor & Alexander

Tyler’s model is Tyler’s model does not
different from Taba’s only focuses on goals,
Tyler xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
model because it starts objectives and domains
the steps of curriculum as considerations on
development from the curriculum
top development but also
the experiences in
relation to the purpose
of the curriculum
unlike Saylor and
Alexander’s model

Taba's grassroots Taba’s model is

approach begins different from Saylor
from the bottom, and Alexander’s
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Taba rather than from the because Taba’s model
x
had specified each
top for which Tyler
steps toward
proposed
development a
curriculum while Saylor
and Alexander’s model
that directly submits
the goals and
objectives to
curriculum designing
without identifying the
content and possible
experiences that the
learners attain

The two models is Give attention to

different from each anything that may
other for Tyler's model interfere the learning of
Saylor & Alexander gives consideration to the students Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
experiences while the
latter does not.

The experience in school and its purpose has been given attention,
Comment: specifying each steps, identifies the domain, objectives and goals and
follows by curriculum designing, implementing, and evaluating

III- ASSIGNMENT:
Personal Reflection:
What phase of the curriculum process do you find very important as a teacher?
Why?

For me the curriculum process that is most important is Curriculum

evaluating because here a student is more able to measure how much he or she
can achieve and where his or her shortcomings are. an example here is actual
works such as the TVL strand with various tests on bread the pastry, electrical
installation, ICT (CSS). etc.
The students are able to demonstrate their abilities and if there is a lack of
what they will do, this is where the (summative) comes in and if they can get it
right away, it is the (formative). in this way students can better practice their
hidden abilities that they can use when the time comes. although it can not only
enter the TVL strand, it can also enter the Gas strands (General Academics Strand)
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) HUMSS (The
Humanities and Social Sciences strand). It will also point out where improvements
can be made and corrective measures, introduced. The result of the evaluation is
very important for the decision making of curriculum planners and implementers.
