Domestic Pesticides Not Requiring a

Residential Applicator Certificate (RAC)
Below is a partial list of domestic class pesticide active ingredients which do not require a RAC to
use. Active ingredients are listed in the Guarantee Statement of the pesticide’s label.
This list includes products that are used for landscaping and other purposes such as structural
applications, mosquito control, pet care, and wood preservation. Vendors do not require a licence
to sell pesticides listed in the “Off the shelf” section. •
Pesticides listed under the “Ask your vendor” section are considered safe for use by untrained
people. However, vendors require a licence to sell these pesticides and their availability may vary
with location.
