Hepatitis C (HCV) is a blood borne infection in which a person becomes infected after the initial exposure or to come in contact with
the blood of an infected person who has hepatitis C virus. Currently, there is no vaccine to prevent Hepatitis C.

Health Promotion
Hepatitis C causes liver inflammation and the amount damage caused to liver can progresses onto more severe conditions such as
cirrhosis or liver cancer. Main transmission is from blood, through sexual intercourse, sharing contaminated needles, and diagnosed of

Instructions
1. Practice safe sex and use condoms
2. Try to be abstinence and avoid sex with multiple partners
3. Check for sterile needles only and avoid sharing needles, body piercing or tattooing
4. Avoid sharing razors, tooth brushes, nail clippers or any item that may associate to contact with blood or mucus membranes
5. Do not leave the broken skin uncovered and always maintain contact precautions
6. Always wear gloves and dispose needles properly if you are a health-care worker
7. Consider getting tested for Hepatitis C if you are at risk level
