ICT in Teacher Training Study Programs of the University of Ljubljana

Goal: In the project "ICT in Teacher Training Study Programs UL" we qualify students, future
primary and secondary school teachers, for the use of information and communication
technology (ICT) in the learning process.

The project involves 9 members of the University of Ljubljana: Academy of Music, Biotechnical
Faculty, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics,
Faculty of Computer and Information Science, Faculty of Sport, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of
Education and Faculty of Theology.

The goals of the project are the preparation of professional bases for didactic use of ICT for all
areas of primary and secondary school education by UL, preparation of recommendations for
equipping schools with ICT and ensuring information support to teachers, training of future
teachers for didactic use of ICT at the beginning of the teaching career, and modernized learning
environments for pedagogical study programs.

The achievement of the goals begins with an analysis of the knowledge, competences and skills
of didactic use of ICT. And the result of analysis will be used for the preparation of starting
points for the training of members of the group of higher education teachers and colleagues, as
well as the planned ways of adjusting the performances of lectures, seminars and exercises with
didactic use of ICT.

The development of innovative learning environments at all levels of education will contribute to
the project with concrete planning, development of materials and activities for pilot exercises,
seminars, and exercises. In the project, customized pilot implementations will include new forms
of learning, innovative teaching materials for students and pedagogical models for use in the
teaching of ICT-supported content.

With the updated pilot projects, the project will contribute to the optimization of teaching and
learning in primary and secondary schools. The project is also extremely important in terms of
recognizing the possibilities offered by the use of ICT for achieving higher reading literacy, as
well as in terms of lifelong learning, better employability and competitiveness in the labor
market.
