Dear Parents

The purpose of this first report is to provide you with an early indication of how your child has started the academic
year.
The Academic Progress grades describe your child’s initial progress in terms of acquiring key knowledge and
skills in each of their subjects. The Approaches to Learning ( ATL ) grades indicate to what extent your child is
applying the important skills, personal qualities and behaviours that facilitate effective and efficient learning. Grade
descriptors are listed on the following page.
Reports have not been issued for students who commenced their study at AIS on or after 13 September 2021.
Senior students who changed subjects in September may have limited grades reported.
In order for your child to make the most of their time at AIS it is important that parents are engaged and involved in
their education. Last week you were invited by email to join us for Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences on
Tuesday 5th October from 3:00-6:00pm and Wednesday 6th October from 8:00am-4:00pm. The link to the
conference booking form sent in the email will remain available up to and including Monday 4th October. This is an
excellent opportunity both to discuss your child’s progress to date and confirm areas for development for the
coming months.
Please note that there will be no classes for Secondary students on Wednesday 6th October. Further, all secondary
after-school activities (ECA, EAL, VNC) are cancelled on Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th October.
