BAPTISM
What is baptism?

Baptism means immersion into water and emersion from water.

Immersion means dying with Christ while emersion means raising with Christ.

Alot of Christians now a days has only being going to river to do swimming thinking

they are going there to do baptism.

Bible doesn't give an example of anyone who was baptize twice but now a days, we

have people going to river for baptism as many times as possible because they don't

understand the meaning of BAPTISM.

Baptism is not for a new convert, it is for those who are ready to become a christian

(christian means someone in christ nature or following Christ). A new convert can

come today and said he is ready to follow christ, such person is entitled to baptism but

a person who has being in Christian religion(not a christian but a religious fellow) 

might not have what it takes to be baptized, the Pharisees during the time of jesus has

been in religion for years without an atom of heart of repentance.

The bible says, not one unclean thing shall enter into the kingdom of my father, which

means before dying and raising up with Christ, every unclean need to be forsaken and

drop.

10 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT EVERY BAPTISM.

1. CONFESSION OF SIN NEEDS TO TAKE PLACE BEFORE EVERY BAPTISM :

An adage says, for secret things are sin, you need to reveal your past evil work before

going to sin. The only way to disgrace Satan is by leaking out is secret, it you don't

leak out your past sins, you will find it hard to have freedom from sin.

(And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

Matthew 3:6 (KJV))

2. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is

mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the

Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Matthew 3:11 (KJV)

John said I indeed baptize you unto repentance, which means baptism is not for those

who has not repented of their sin. You don't need to be curious about baptism, age is

not a determinant of baptism but repentance.

3. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the

heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove,

and lighting upon him:

WATER BAPTISM RELEASES THE HOLY GHOST BAPTISM INTO ACTION:

After jesus baptism, has he was coming up, the holy ghost came upon him, likewise

the apostle, it was after the water baptism that they receive power, Paul had am

encounter with Christ on his way to Damascus but he never receive the holy ghost

until when he was baptized with water. You might have being having some encounter

with the Holy ghost now, but I tell you that after your water baptism, you will encounter

more because you will become the original carrier or the holy Ghost.

4. Every one should be Baptist in the name of the father, son and holy ghost:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and

of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Matthew 28:19 (KJV)

Any baptism that doesn't recognize Christ as the savior and God his the creator of all

things and holy ghost as the great teacher is zero

5. Baptism is not emergency event:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and

of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Matthew 28:19 (KJV)

In the above bible text, we were made to understand that the first command jesus

gave his disciple was to go and teach them, after teaching them, baptism can then

come into action. Now a days in our churches, hardly we will see pastors who teaches

their member before baptism, all they know is to carry them to river and deep them

into water and that is why we keep seeing a single person baptizing in 5 times

6. Baptism works with faith: if you go to the river without believing in God and the

person that want to baptize you, you are zero. Baptism works with faith, you can't

open the door of your house to the person you don't trust, likewise christ, you can't

open the door of your heart for him if you don't have faith in him.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be

damned.

7.Any baptism without the fruit of repentance is nothing. After your baptism, there

should be change In your life, you don't live with the fruit of the flesh like the one of

the past, you give the old man chance to die completely and put on the new man(new

attitude).

The fruit of repentance are the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22)

Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of

vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within

yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of

these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

8. Baptism is not the last stage of knowing Christ. No one can describe to you about

the heavenly being except the holy spirit because he is part of them. In the beneath

bible verse, those came to jesus after been baptized, asking for the next stage, sir,

after water baptism, the next stage is holy ghost BAPTISM. If you pass through water

baptism without holy ghost baptism, when storm arise, it will be easy for you to back

slide and you you wont be able to understand spiritual things. The disciples of Christ

has been baptize three years before the crucification of Christ,  but none of them was

able to understand spiritual things because they hasn't pas through holy ghost

baptism.

Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we

do?

9. Baptism is once:

I haven't read it in the bible where scripture said we should be baptize twice or has

many times as we want, but once. Are you an apostolic member, going to redeem

doesn't mean you need another baptism, because we are serving one lord.

Read the below bible text. 

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Ephesians 4:5 (KJV) 

10. Baptism cleanse all our past sin before God.

Listen, most of us only know that baptism means feeling into water and coming out,

but I tell you today that baptism brings sanctification and cleaning of sin.

Listen, their is a different between forgiveness of sin and cleaning of sin, most of us

do say this, I can forgive but can't forget, the reason why we forgive is because we

haven't clean such person's crime away from our heart, but baptism brings the two, it

bring forgiveness and cleaning of past sin, not only that, it turns you into another

being by sanctifying you with the blood of jesus.

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
