ASSIGNMENT-1
Objective: Create and Modify a Style in a Document.

Step 1: Right-click to the parent style in the style and formatting


window.Select new from pop-up menu.

Step 2: In the organizer tab type a name for your new custom
style. The dialogs and choice are the same for defining new styles
and for modifying existing style.
ASSIGNMENT-3

Objective: Add header and footer to a document

To add a header to a page, choose insert> Header and then

select the page style for the current page from the submenu.

To add a footer to a page, choose insert> footer and then select

the page style for the current page from the submenu.

You can also choose format>page style, and then select and

header on and footer on. Clear the same content left/right in

check box if you want

to define different

header and footer for

even and odd pages.


ASSIGNMENT-4

Objective: Insert an image to document.

Step 1: Open or create a new document where you want to insert


the image into.

Step 2:Place your insertion point where you want the image to
appear in writer page.
Step 3:From menu choose insert>Image. A dialog box would
open to choose the image.
Step 4:Navigate the image file to be inserted from the hard disk
or from the CD/DVD Rom/Pen Drive and select it.

Step 5: Click the open to add it to your document.

Objective: Resizing the picture

If picture is too big or too small you can easily resize it to


suit your needs.
Step 1: Click on the image with the left mouse button. Observe
carefully, some little green squares appear around the
edges of selected image.
Step 2: To resize an image simply drag with the mouse one of the
green sizing handles. Hold the left mouse button and
drag it outwards to make the image bigger and inwards to
make it smaller. Release the left mouse button when you
are satisfied with the size.
In this way the image is resized proportionally and keeps the
original ratio between width and height.
Observe carefully, while resizing the image the mouse pointer
will change the shape to a double headed arrow.
Step 3: To resize the width or height only hold down the shift key
while dragging the green point.
You can also choose to specify the size of the picture in inches,
if you prefer.
Step 1: Right click the picture, then click the Properties option at
the bottom of the menu.
Step 2: Enter a preferred width or length into the appropriate Size
field in the Height or Width section. Additionally, make
sure that the box to the left of Lock Aspect Ratio is
checked, otherwise the image can become distorted.
Step 3: Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.

Objective: Deleting An Image

Step 1: Click the image to select it.


Step 2: Press the Delete key or press Ctrl + X.

Objective: Insert table in a document.

Step 1: Place the cursor in your document where you want to

insert the table.

Step 2: Choose Table>Insert Table (Ctrl + F12).

Step 3: In the size area, enter

the number of rows

and columns.

Step 4: Select the options that

you want, click OK.

Sample Table
Internet: The hyperlink points to a web address, normally starting
with http://
Main and News: The hyperlink opens an email message that is pre-
addressed to a particular recipient.
Document: The hyperlink points to a place in either the current
document or another existing document.
New document: The hyperlink creates a new document.
Step 2: To apply a filter click on a coulumn’s drop-down arrow to
bring the filter window. In this window you can set the
filter criteria. For example to show only the Female
persons we deselect the other values.
After we apply a filter the data in our sheet are updated and teh filter
drop down arrow is highlighted to indicate the filter existence.
