Challenges We Face

We realized that there are many physically handicapped and autistic children are
living around us. Recent survey shows 7.1% of the population is now suffering
from all kinds of Neuro Developmental Disability (NDD) & Autism in our
country and we couldn't be silent. The treatments of Autistic Children are not
like one day medicine. It takes one or two year to recover an Autistic Child and
to fit in the society.

To achieve this they need regular Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language
Therapy and Physiotherapy. Thus they would have returned to a much healthier
normal life. “Alokito Poth” (Enlightened Path) is an organization where we
provide these therapies fully free to the poor autistic and disable children from
January 2019. Otherwise they had to pass their lives in Begging or house arrest!

Mission
Our aim is to make the physically challenged and autistic children fit to suit in
the society. Let the lives of the children with disabilities and autism shine in the
light of our services.

Current Capacity of Services for the Autistic Children & Parents

Generally, lower and middle class families cannot afford the cost of such a
long-term treatment resulting many of physically challenged and autistic
children around us being deprived of a better life. Our endeavor is to make them
fit to suit in the society. Many physically handicapped and autistic children are
visiting our institution and receiving treatments. Many of parents have
requested for expanding our services in other locations also.

At present we are providing treatments support to 42 autistic children with

Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy & Physiotherapy.
We are providing 21 sessions of therapies daily to these children. These 42
autistic children are getting treatments in every alternative day. We provide in
an average 9,000 plus Therapeutic Treatments Sessions in each year to the Poor
Autistic Children.

Alokito Poth gets to impact 1000 parents and 500 children by the next 2 years,
the parents get to learn about autism as their children get free expert therapy
which improves their health. As a result of the empowerment that we give to the
parents they get Independence to enable them to take care of their children with
autism. The children also get to grow into adulthood and be able to engage in
the normal day to day activities and be productive in society despite having
autism.

Existing capacity is not enough to meet up the growing needs of children with
disability and autism due to scarcity of resources. Organization has a plan to
grow and increase services through building partnership with institutional
donors, philanthropies, corporate, individual and community engagement.
Significant Achievements

A good number of physically challenged children with disability and autism like
Nurshaiba & Walid (above pictures) recovered and integrated into the society
by our continuous efforts. Over the year 2020 we provided in and over 8500
sessions of Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy and
Physiotherapy to these children in need. We brought back 21 special children to
a normal life out of 42. Now they have been mainstreamed in the family and
society.
