BACKGROUND
The emergence of information technology has changed the way in which business is being
conducted. According to Shaun Pather (2006), “of the various uses found for the internet and the
web, one of the most important was its adoption by organisations to facilitate their business with
both customers and suppliers alike”. Organization has identified the need of integrating web
technology into businesses in other to have competitive edge over market rivals. The growth of the
internet, globalisation of trade, and the rise of information economics, has recast the role of
information systems in business and management. According to Mare Andreessen, “there were 800
million internet users worldwide by the end of 2004 (Maney 2004), and that number is expected to
reach 3 billion in the next decade”. The internet provides a global access for businesses to cut across
geographical boundaries reaching out to a worldwide audience through web pages.
I therefore have decided to incorporate my IT skills in designing a quality car sales website that
conforms to the set out standard of a good website.
