BLACKBOARD

As far as I know myself better, I have a lot of weaknesses I’m not good at English, grammar I don’t have
confident, I couldn’t speak well. As you can see the most comfortable type of writing for me is friendly
letter, this is where I can express the words, I wanted to say without thinking of mistakes especially
grammars or whatsoever. The second one is letter sent through e-mail, most of the time I can express the
words through texts and emails. Sometimes, when sending a letter in email I do proofreading my works
until I feel comfortable of the words that I used. The last two remaining common type of writing are my
least comfortable, the resume and the application letter this is because I’m not comfortable enough to tell
them my skills and experiences because I don’t have one, I am not confident too, I am still working and
building up my confidence and surely soon I can overcome my weaknesses.

When I hear the word business communication it is about business and the relationship between the
manger and employees. It is a process through which information, facts, ideas, orders, advices, decisions,
etc. are conveyed, sent, or exchanged between/among the persons associated with business. One of the
examples of this, as a member of any organization should be able to share ideas in an effective manner and
to express their clear recommendations towards a company-related topic.

ANALYSIS

Activity 1.4: Set the Connection

In 2-3 paragraphs, explain or elaborate on this topic: How can you use business
letters in your field of specialization in the future?

The global workplace forces us to improve our communication skills. As a financial management
student, it is quite important for me to know this kind of matter. Business letters refer to any
written communication whose contents are professional in nature, no matter what your role is in a
company, writing skills are valuable assets. Why is this important? the way you write can either
give your career a boost or hamper your progression within the organization and also learning this
can lead you to become an effective communicator in the future.

My course is a business course, which is financial management. My possible workplace in the

future are banks, auditing companies, or even other companies and small businesses that require
financial managers. In my field, business letters are common. It's like the normal way of
communication between one company to other external parties. That is why this will be very
useful in my line of work in the future. When I start working, we will probably write a business
letter at least once a week depending on the business or company. If the company has a lot of
investors or network, we probably write a business letter more often than usual.
