This lesson shows how to get ready to start an implementation. Before you start with the
activities described in this lesson, you should have a provisioned (installed) Oracle Fusion
Applications instance available.

on to Oracle Fusion Applications, Oracle Identity Manager
(OIM), and Oracle Authorization Policy Manager (APM).
• Make sure that yyou have the following
g information before
you start:
– Application URL: If you do not know the URLs of Oracle
Fusion Applications and OIM, contact the person who
provisioned the systems at your company. When Fusion
Applications provisioning process completes, these URLs
are shown
h on th
the summary page.
They are also recorded in a file whose default name is
Provisioning Summary. However, the person installing the
software has the option to choose a different file name. The
file is created in the same location as the provisioning plan.

Fusion Applications provisioning process is the Fusion
Applications super user. You also need the OIM system
administrator user ID. The default user ID of the Fusion
Applications super user is FAADMIN and that of OIM system
administrator is XELSYSADM. The passwords are set by the
person provisioning the systems. If you do not know the user
IDs and passwords, contact the person who installed the
systems.

implementation users should be created before the applications
can be set up and implemented. “Implementation users” is a
term used to collectively reference the users who are typically
responsible for the following duties in an enterprise:
• User and security management
• Implementation project management
• Enterprise structures management
Security Administrators

administration. Therefore, this “super user” should be used
sparingly after installation completes. One or more dedicated
users for managing
g g users and applications
pp security
y should be
created instead, who, in turn, will be responsible for on-going
duties of user and security management for your enterprise.
• The users designated as security administrators must be granted
the IT Security Administrator role.
Tip: After creating security administrators, the implementation
super user may choose to sign off and leave management of the
rest of the Fusion Applications users to the newly created
security administrators. On the other hand, the installation
super user may choose to create additional implementation
users, such as Implementation Project Managers and users for
setting
g upp enterprise
p structures.
Implementation Managers
Oracle University and Global Resources for Information Technology use only
are responsible for managing Fusion Applications
implementation. At least one user with permission to
manage project implementation must be created before
Fusion Applications implementation can begin.
• Users designated as implementation managers must be
granted one of the following roles:
– Application Implementation Manager
– Application

Fusion applications, one of the first requirements will be to set
up the enterprise structure for managing users and
security. Therefore, the users who participate in setting up this
enterprise structure must be created immediately.
Key Concept: Enterprise Structure
The enterprise structure is the model of your enterprise to meet
legal, management, and functional objectives. Setting up your
enterprise
p structure includes setting
g up
p specific
p legal,
g ,
management and functional entities, such as geographies,
legal entities, chart of accounts, business units, workforce
structure, and so on. For detailed information about enterprise
structure setup, refer to Define Enterprise Structures in the
Oracle Fusion Applications Common Implementation Guide.

to his or her setup responsibilities within the enterprise
structure setup.
• You may y want to g
grant the Financial Applications
pp
Administrator role to users who will be responsible to set
up Financials-related enterprise structure and the Human
Capital Management Applications Administrator role to
users who will be responsible for setting up Workforce
Structure. Alternatively, grant the Application
Implementation Consultant role to all implementation
users. Refer to the Common Security Reference Manual
for more details on other roles with access to enterprise
structure setups.
